Just happened to see these great spiderwebs glistening with the morning dew on this fence while I was shooting this sunrise!
HFF everyone and hope you have a great weekend and remember to say thanks to a Veteran today! (Thanks Dad!)
And a bonus its 11/11/11!! How cool is that!! ;-)
The spider's web was bejewelled with rain and was hanging just outside my kitchen window. It was still raining so I made this image through the window.
I was fascinated with the intricate design and how long it must have taken the spider to create this wonder to trap it;s prey.

If a black man is racist, is it okay
If it's the white man's racism that made him that way
Because the bully's the victim they say
By some sense they're all the same
'Cause the line between wrong and right
Is the width of a thread from a spider's web
The piano keys are black and white
But they sound like a million colors in your mind
I could tell you to go to war
Or I could march for peace and fighting no more
How do I know which is right
And I hope he does when he sends you to fight
'Cause the line between wrong and right
Is the width of a thread from a spider's web
The piano keys are black and white
But they sound like a million colors in your mind
Should we act on a play
Or should we chase the moments away
Should we live, should we give
Remember forever the guns and the feathers in time
'Cause the line between wrong and right
Is the width of a thread from a spider's web
The piano keys are black and white
But they sound like a million colors in your mind
The piano keys are black and white
But they sound like a million colors in your mind
Morning Dew reveals a hidden world - the delicacy of Spider webs on hedgerows.

While exploring this cemetery in the early mourn, early sun rays illuminated this web and I knew I had to use it in a photo.
No lake, pond or field, what you looking at is an up-shot, frosty web or a car door mirror and side window.

Indeed , there is an organisation for spiders who are web spinning challenged , here to assist with web maintenance or with web-construction from scratch ! If you look at the picture fully enlarged you can see the 2 & 8 this spider has got his web into - our man from the AA is doing what he can , but to be honest this should be a total rebuild from the web support arms to the final centre ring .
The AA man is a well experienced chap used to working in odd places on many tasks - the last time I saw him was back in the summer of 2013 on a totally different job and as equally challenging - see him at work back then ----------------
Yesterday morning I noticed this smallish web in the garden. I set up the camera above the web, and placed the flash below. The resulting colors were a surprise - it looked like diffraction of some kind was going on. On the web (haha) I found that "The thin linear threads of spider webs occasionally act as optical slits, decomposing white light by diffraction. The resulting colors aren't as pure as those of refraction phenomena, as in a rainbow or in an ice halo....The diameter of the minute water droplets composing mid-level clouds is similar to the diameter of spider web threads -- a few microns or even less." epod.usra.edu/blog/2005/01/spider-web-diffraction.html
The spider seems to have woven a new web outside our kitchen window. The double-paned window had been cleaned inside, but not outside. (The blurry dark vertical lines are the balusters supporting the railing around the deck.)
At the moment that I snapped this, the wind was causing the web to dance vigorously. When I looked at the image on the computer, I was surprised that the filaments had as much definition as they do.
Another from a glorious morning, definitely some of the best conditions I've encountered since i took up photography!
As the morn sun shone
on the spider's soft misty web
a hue prism did show...
