Spider Web with Dew

Another one of those Happy Accident photos, this time opening up and wondering how I achieved this. Low f/stop--4.5. I adjusted the curves a little to make it darker and bring out some color in the dew/bokeh on the web. I have a few similar to this one. Looks cool large too. :-)

Here you can see the webs a bit stiller as the sun shines on them and the wind relaxes a bit.

An active hunter, the female Nursery Web spider spins web to protect her young as they are about to hatch to protect them until they are able to venture out alone. She will carry the egg-sac in her fangs before they hatch.

They are a widespread species and are a relatively large spider, (1.5cm long body), closely related to the rarer Raft spider; they can be spotted sunbathing in brambles or on nettles.

Woke up just as the fog was burning off. Water droplets had collected on everything, including some nicely backlit spider webs.

Once the cobwebs are out of the way, the mower will be ready to go. It can be controlled via Bluetooth using a mobile phone, so it's quite a fancy piece of kit.

Today the Hereios of the We're Here! group are focusing on apathetic procrastination.

I have wound up the contrast here just to attract your attention, making the background darker.

Those amazing refracted light shows in the web weren't visible to me until I had it on the computer screen.

Look below and I have a cropped image of that awesome rainbow coloured part of the lower left corner.

I'm working on shooting things I have either never done or have done but never quite done it right. My first spider web... yes I still need to work at getting it done just right lol.

i'm kinda maybe sorta addicted to square photos, oops.

i went outside to feed my dog this morning and noticed this web getting caught by the morning light so i snapped this just before school. i wish i had a macro lens to capture really nice close-ups but unfortunately i'm a broke, unemployed student so i just took this with a standard lens, sigh.

I met this great architect in my portico this morning by 4.30 am. He was at the centre of his amazing creation waiting for his prey. I wished to shoot this after sunrise with back-lighting because the web was wet with rain drops. But i had a doubt whether this would exist till sunrise.

Hence tried several shots with flash. My doubts became true. When i came out to see him in the morning the web was not there.

Dozens of spider webs were present along the American River. The fog added some moisture to the web highlighting the structure as it was illuminated in the morning light.

Still learning how to use the Olympus PL3, so far it has great 'out-of-camera' results. I'm impressed how well it holds up at iso 1600. It's a great camera for travel. In my case it goes running with me along the river trail to catch these kind of opportunities.

An odd spider web I saw hiking around Kamakura. It looks like the spider incorporated a piece of cloth or something into its web, and somehow ended up making it spiral out as well.
