Kosovo Force (KFOR) Regional Command-East (RC-East) #Soldiers conduct range familiarization using multiple NATO ally and partner weapons systems at Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo, Feb. 2, 2023.
Swiss Army Capt. Martin Bruhlmann coordinated the training for Soldiers from the U.S., Switzerland, and Italy incorporating the M4/M4A1 carbine rifle, Berreta ARX160, and the SIG 550 weapon systems.
During the training Soldiers learned how to operate each weapon system, perform remedial actions, and engage targets during variable situations in the prone, kneeling, and standing positions.
Weapon training enhances the readiness and #marksmanship of all Soldiers from NATO ally and partner nations supporting KFOR and its mission is to maintain a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all communities in Kosovo, as mandated by the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999.

Hundreds of people marched in Vernon Hills this past Saturday to protest school shootings and the epidemic of gun violence that plagues the country. They came from all over the northern suburbs of Chicago. From grannies to children, they all wished to express their feeling that "Enough if Enough", and that it's time for common sense gun reform. Military grade assault rifles that can fire hundreds of rounds per minute have no place on our streets. Kids shouldn't be afraid to go to school. Schools are places for education, not active shooter lockdown drills. Teachers expressed their outrage over suggestions that they be armed. They want to teach, not carry weapons. More guns equal more violence.

The Governor's Palace has quite the armory in the entry hall. This was a sign of the King's strength - meant to comfort those who were ruled and create fear in the hearts of enemies. The weapons were not for show, when there was a need they could be taken down and issued to Virginia's two companies.
As relations between the Crown and the colonists soured, the weapons took on the hint of a threat.
The STG-44 and gewehr 43's were painted using Tamiya Red Brown (XF-64) for the wood furniture, and a darkened Vallejo Natural Steel (70.864) for the gunmetal, giving a more metallic look. A black wash was applied afterwards to bring out some smaller details.
We were having a tidy out and found this. It's not going to hang on the walls though.
Some kind of ceremonial axe from Nigeria, it's going back in its protective wrapping.
Just got interested in steampunk recently, so I tried building a pistol out of thrift store parts. Not sure if it will hold together, but I tried :)
