Post-Pro Info:
In Lightroom created two virtual copies of +1 and +2 stops exposed. Imported them into Photoshop CS6 as layers. used the +2 layer for the rim lighting, used the original layer for the background, and used the +1 layer for the rest of the shadowed part of model's body. Brought this back into Lightroom and bumped clarity to 80+ to really bring out the background and highlights.
The slight darkening on the left is again the shutter coming into frame, which should not happen at the shutter speed i was using (max sync on this camera should be 1/200), but i think it works well in this case. I guess my shutter speed is a little off of what it claims.

The Escalade is the most popular festival in Geneva taking place in the city center every December as a memory and celebration of proud defence of Genevans from the attack of Duke of Savoy's army. During Saturday & Sunday, in the Fête de l'Esclade, more than 800 persons of the old families wearing historical costumes march the streets, play drums, shoot from historical rifles, while thousands of spectators peer through the windows and gather around to watch the spectacle.
Escalade finishes by the huge ceremonial fire at the square in front of the St. Peter's Cathedral (Sunday, beginning by 6pm) for the final celebration. All 800 "soldiers" in historical costumes, some on horses, come after the full day of marching around the old town, meet with thousands of visitors, and finally group all together around the big fire. The General of the troops reads out loud a historic treaty in the recital of which he is joined by the crowds.

Amidst increased geopolitical tensions, there has been growing concern that terrorist groups, lone wolves or rogue nations might use biological weapons, or any type of CBRN weapon. International reports and studies provide good reason to believe that threats from a deliberate use of CBRN weapons are no longer inconceivable: international counter-terrorism experts consider a possible CBRN weapon attack possible.
Countries in Europe are gradually raising their level of preparedness for the possible event of a CBRN incident that could become a national security problem. The European Commission released in October 2017 its Action Plan to enhance preparedness against CBRN security risks as part of its comprehensive anti-terrorism package.
Sufficient and timely preparedness are essential and should be considered a high priority for the European Union. Europe can improve its coordination and learn best practices from international organisations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and past experiences in the United States of America.
This seminar provides a platform for a timely discussion and opportunity to exchange views between MEPs, European and international experts and relevant stakeholders, with the aim of taking further European political actions and raise awareness inside the EU institutions and beyond. And hopefully it can work out a satisfactory answer to the main question: is Europe sufficiently prepared?

Yes, this is my highly used, much favored, all-around, weapon of choice. My Canon 24-70mm F2.8 L. I've had this lens for a year now or more, I think. First got my hands on it when one of my friends bought his. From then on, I had no choice but to get me one as well. I just couldn't go back to using the kit lenses that I had at that time. Don't get me wrong, the kit lens are useful and nice when I was starting out. But it got very limited and I don't get the results I want anymore. So I bought one from ebay and that's that. Expensive as hell but I think it was worth it.
Anyway, for tonight's image I thought I'd use my striplights (love them!!!). I tried 2, but the result was too commercial. Even tried getting the whole lens with the hood but it was too worn-out so I recomposed and chopped off the top. I wanted a bit of drama so I took one out and settled for one striplight and a bare flash at the background.
And just so you know, very minor PS was done in this image which is quite new to me.
