The special weapons dalek is a fan favorite design, and for good reason.
Introduced in "Remembrance of the Daleks" in the 80's, it made a huge impact when in obliterated the renegade daleks, leaving nothing but a smoldering pile of ash, twice!
It appeared briefly in the season 9 episode "Witch's Familiar, with a single line of dialogue, and has not been seen on screen since.
For my take, I wanted the keep the design mostly unaltered, but make a few adjustments. First and foremost, 1960's colors. The silver, bluish gray with blue accents is my favorite dalek color scheme it's just so striking.
Secondly I added silver slats around the mid section. The original prop did not have the iconic dalek slats, and as a result the mid section felt empty (gun not withstanding) So I added them, and I honestly feel it elevates the design enormously.
