Eergisteren werden de Vlaamse Ardennen nog een keertje opgeschrikt door stoer dieselgeweld. Infrabel zou een lege set van 10 WBW-wagens overbrengen uit Schaarbeek-PCI naar de Holcim-groeve in Lessines om er beladen te worden. Daarna zou het geheel de volgende dag beladen terugkeren naar Brugge. Zo’n fantastische combinatie krijgen we niet alle dagen te zien op – naar mijn mening – één van Vlaanderens mooiste spoorlijnen. Reden te meer om hierop af te gaan!
De dag zou ik na veel twijfelen aanvatten met Certus die richting Terneuzen zou sporen. Door veel getreuzel zou de cokestrein naar Zeeland een uur te laat vertrekken, waardoor die niet meer kon afgewacht worden. Jammer, want het is een combinatie die ik nog niet voor de lens kreeg. Maar Infrabel wou ik kost wat kost niet missen. De auto werd genomen om naar Hemelveerdegem te rijden. Ongeveer een uurtje later aangekomen op post, bleek Infrabel het uit te hangen met haar eigen treinen. Na een ellenlange wachttijd in het station van Denderleeuw, kon de 97100 uit Schaarbeek de reis hervatten met zo’n ruim uur vertraging.
Even later, na het beklimmen van de heuvelrug nabij Zottegem, kon de trein de afdaling naar Geraardsbergen inzetten. Het waren de 6263 en 6299 met de tien lege tremelwagens die onderweg waren als trein 97100 naar het verderop gelegen Lessines.

Vorige week kregen we een paar prachtige lentedagen voorgeschoteld , ideaal om er op uit te trekken met het fototoestel , op weg naar Pairi Daiza maakte ik een stop in de buurt van het station van Cambron-Casteau waar ik de HLD 6223 en 6261 met WBW MFS100 wagens op weg van Lessen naar Bressousx kon spotten.

One of the Leyland Nationals giving rides at the Leyland National 50 weekend at Witehaven, was this very smart 1982 Mk2 WBW 735X seen here in this atractive Strathspey Scottish livery.
Glee reminds me so much of the old Judy Garland and Micky Rooney MGM "let's put on a show" musicals.

Former First Solent buses, transferred to Potteries and placed in service before repaint, but with added "excuse the wrong colour, I'll be repainted soon" vinyls on sides and rear.

I had another song in mind when I first got the idea for the photo, then thought that Dido's White Flag is more appropriate. I love this song, and it reminds me of some good memories. There's hope though it's a bit sad..(that's life, isn't it!!)
About the Photo: Well, ever since I've seen Tonya's sideways double flash series, I've been trying to make such capture.. lacking the equipments made me try and think of other solutions, so, I came up with the LCDs and long shutter.. There was some parts of the background visible in the photo when I captured it. But, I dealt with them using Lightroom. I consider this photo as the first successful, not so disappointing attempt to make it. And, hopefully in the future I'll be able to master this technique.

Nu-Venture M87 WBW is seen on The Street, Shorne whilst working route 417. Saturday 10th December 2011.
At the time this photo was taken step entrance vehicles were the norm on route 416 (Gravesend to Meopham via Shorne and Cobham) and 417 (Gravesend to Cliffe via Shorne).

Central's gorgeous brand new ALP seen parked in its bay. Huge thanks to the firefighter for allowing photos, opening the bay door and moving the pipe thing when taking side on and rear shots! He told this vehicle may not enter service until either next month or September (he said it should be active before the station's open day!)
