The former Fleming Smith Warehouse in Tribeca in Manhattan at 135 Watts St.The sandstone and brick structure was built in 1891.You can see the 1891 in copper numerals still intact on the stepped gable (top right) with Fleming Smith's "FS" monogram above them The stepped gables are trimmed in copper ornamentation (painted in green).There was a shoe factory and a storehouse for wine once in the building.Hmm,I guess when the workers weren't trying on shoes they were crushing grapes on the side. A green sandpiper on the Rushy Pen lake at Slimbridge Wetlands Centre, this was taken from the Rushy Pen hide on a visit in early September when I met up with fellow flickr members Pete Blanchard, Paul Watts and Keith Fowler.
