This shot was captured the same day as the previous upload (the Trillium closeup). Perhaps it will help put that flower, which was among those shown in the clump to the right of the road, into context for you.

Thanks to all who visit, fave, comment, and extend invitations. Your support is much appreciated. I will be sure to visit your work, too

It was a grey and sad day, even though I decided to head to the cost to capture the waves.

I was lucky and was able to capture this scene of this boat just behind the surf zone.

It was a fantastic walk through the Sigmund-Thun Klamm and round the Klammsee.

The Klammsee is a reservoir, is an underground storage with a volume of 200,000 m³ and part of the power station Kaprun. The dam Bürgsperre with a height of 19 m accumulates the Kaprun Ache.

The beautiful place is located in the municipality of Kaprun in Salzburg in Austria.

Wish you all a wonderful and relaxing weekend!

This photograph was taken on Jubilee Bridge looking towards Mandarin Oriental Hotel (from left of photograph), Ritz Carlton Hotel, Esplanade Outdoor Stage, Singapore Flyer, The Float, ArtScience Museum and Marina Bay Sands. The lattice structures have been erected on the Float to serve as the performance stage for National Day Parade on 9th August. Parts of Ritz Carlton were illuminated by the projected light from The Float.

Captivating sunbeams appeared behind the two hotels and Singapore Flyer. These sunbeams provided interesting contrasts and the mirror-like reflections in the Bay added further interests to the cityscape.

This was its favorite perch and would eventually return to it, after several tries I finally got it landing with a fish. Since it was distant it has a fair crop to the image.

Thanks D for your help it is working again I can now save in jpeg..

This was my first time to set my alarm clock to 4:50 AM on a sunday morning. I really wanted to take a picutre of this beautiful place on sunrise. As it turned out, I wasn't the only one with this intention. About ten other photographers were already there :-)

Here I met Eric Jacob (ej foto) who is also an Olympus photographer! Thank you for the nice conversation and the exchange of knowledge. Hope to hear more from you soon.

I made a lot of photos this morning. This one is made of a set of HDR photos, stitched together to a panorama. Hope you like it!

The dunes at Chaves beach in Boa Vista Island, Cape Verde

There was a time when meadow, grove, and stream,

The earth, and every common sight

To me did seem

Apparelled in celestial light,

The glory and the freshness of a dream.

I think these are painted turtles; if I'm wrong, please correct me.

Was a beautiful day.. I love this time of year..

Could not resist to preserve this arrangement. It was cold outside and these chairs are metal, so no point in hanging around for anyone to sit down. One day I´ll start shooting pictures with people in them. What else is there that is interesting really?

*Mashallah*

..it was Saturday, about 7am, i'd been on the streets since 3am ...and I found myself on Brunswick Street, Fitzroy, the day was just breaking and two young guys passed by ... on their way home from a Friday night out .. they stopped for a chat, they were friendly, knowledgable around the camera and genuinely interested in what I was doing.

Hope you like the pic guys ...

the Torre dell'Arenella, part of the complex of the Tonnara, Quattro Pizzi etc ... was built in 1852 by Don Vincenzo Florio Sr. (1799-1868), who had called a Dutchman to draw up the project. It served as a windmill or mechanical mill to grind sumac, a grass which, reduced to powder, was indispensable for the tanning of hides.

It worked for a few years, the exports were booming, then the workers began to get smart, mixing fake herb powder with that of the precious sumac, the result: the mill closed and business in smoke.

The tower also served as a lighthouse, as reported by an old nautical map of the port.

Arenella perhaps owes its name to the fine sand that once covered its coast.

Współczesna postać monastyru pochodzi z XIX w., kiedy to dzięki ofiarom społeczeństwa bułgarskiego i przy zgodzie władz tureckich wybudowano ogromny kompleks klasztorny. Mury grubości 2 m i wysokości 24 m nadają mu wygląd warownej twierdzy.

The palace in Jankowice was built at the turn of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, and its reconstruction took place in 1803 on the order of Wawrzyniec Engestrӧm (a Swedish envoy alongside King Stanisław August Poniatowski), who settled in Wielkopolska. The palace was built in the style of romanticism. It is surrounded by a park with an area of 18.6 ha. There is a pond with 4 islands and a rich tree stand with 50 species (limes, plane trees, chestnuts, oaks and others).

The palace and park complex is owned by the Tarnowo Podgórne commune, which carried out a thorough renovation and revitalization of the park in 2018.

while it was still dark we had gone to a simple bird hide to be there before the flocks of Meyer's parrots and African green pigeons arrive at the clay eating site at sunrise.

While we were waiting we heard some noise behind us and after a while we knew these were warthogs ( definitely safer than some other possibilities...)

The family of warthogs came closer and had picked up our scent but they had no clue where we were.

The huge male in this image was walking in front and stopped nearby to look in our direction.

You can clearly see both set of tusks of which the very sharp small ones are used for fighting other warthogs or for defense against predators. The larger ones are used for digging etc.

I was at my daughter's house last night and these raccoons came to the door, probably looking for food and warmth. Suddenly they both stood up at the same time, as though pleading. I took this shot handheld through the window - it was below freezing outside.

My photo outing got cancelled today and has been postponed to Friday, but with the below freezing temperatures and black ice on the roads, I have a feeling it won't be happening.

This beautiful CANADIAN flew by me within a meter...the sound, the energy, the speed...the rush I felt was staggering...it was only for a few seconds...wow...and then it was gone..."STUNNING"...

It was definitely worth getting up for sunrise that morning. Thankfully I didn’t need to climb the 199 steps for this capture, we were staying at the YHA next to Whitby Abbey 😂 Not a chance in hell of managing those steps before lunch time!

Heading back to Whitby this weekend for a much needed week away. Managed to find a late booking still available, thankfully.

This will be my last post until we return, hopefully with some half decent images and in a better place, mentally. Thank you all for your support during a very difficult few months.

Happy Easter, dear friends. 🐑🐰❤️

Die kleinen Nilgänschen machen einen Ausflug an den nahen See.

I was driving back from Fingeringhoe reserve with no success, when I spotted a few Linnets on a wire fence! It's amazing how close you can get when your sitting in the car! Luckily the background was ok too! First one I've photographed for a few years!

I was looking over my photos to see which one I could post, and looking at this one just kind of relaxed me while I was looking at it. So, I dusted it off and cleaned it up and posted it.

Have a great Sunday

I was in a local garden last week, when suddenly they turned the sprinklers on everywhere. Needless to say, I did get wet :) But I took advantage of it and tried to capture the spraying water.

Zoom in and see if you can feel it :)

I was fortunate enough to see a number of reticulated giraffes when I was in northern Kenya last month. With only about 15 000 animals left in the wild, these are rare animals that can only be found in northern Kenyan parks like Ol Pejeta and Samburu. This particular animal was on the move in the early evening.
