An schönen Abenden zwischen Mai und August kam die regionale Fotografenszene gerne in Lindau am Aeschacher Ufer zusammen. Man traf eigentlich immer jemanden, mit dem man entspannt quatschen konnte. Mal gabs auch ein Bier dazu oder was zu Essen. Herrlich entspannt!
Da war es eigentlich egal, zum wievielten Mal der EC 197 bei der Ausfahrt aus dem Inselbahnhof – damals Hauptbahnhof – auf die Speicherkarte wanderte, man hatte einfach eine gute Zeit. Ohnehin war die Stimmung mit Wasser, Wolken und Bergen jedesmal unterschiedlich, sodass sich allein schon dadurch eine schöne Varianz ergab.
Ja, und dann konnte man natürlich noch mit Bildausschnitt und Brennweite spielen. Deshalb hier mal die »Fortgeschrittenen-Variante« mit kurzer Brennweite und Zuschnitt im Format 16 zu 9.

Wikipedia: The JEATH War Museum (Thai: พิพิธภัณฑ์อักษะเชลยศึก) is a war museum in Kanchanaburi, Thailand about the Death Railway built from 1942 to 1943 by Allied POWs under the direction of the Japanese, a part of the Thai-Burma railways.
The acronym JEATH stands for the primary nationalities involved in the construction of the railway: Japanese, English, Australian, American, Thai and Holland, whereas the Thai name is Phíphítháphan Songkhram Wát Tâi (Wat Tai War Museum).

Each and every person throughout the world has to understand that if we unite and live in harmony we all win!! However, if we continue to fight wars and use violence we ALL suffer. We are all human beings made of flesh, blood, with eyes, a nose, mouth, hair, limbs, and similar bodies different only in colour and shape, but our hearts and brains are all the same, and we need to learn to use them to our mutual benefit, by tolerating and understanding one another, sharing together, caring about one another and working together in unity!

...Dank einer Recht großen Verspätung war es am 18.11.2020 möglich den Normal am Vormittag Fahrenden gemischt Zug aus Zwickau zu fotografieren. Direkt nach der Arbeit ging es an den Nürnberger Ostbahnhof und dabei hätten mein Kollege und ich keine Minute länger brauchen dürfen. An der Stelle angekommen sahen wir bereits das das Ausfahrsignal in Richtung Dutzendteich Hp2 zeigte. Da war uns klar jetzt ist Eile angesagt also rauf auf die Feuertreppe der angrenzenden Schule und Kameras raus. Oben angekommen gelang es gerade noch die Kameras einzustellen da fuhr auch schon 232 472 mit ihrem 17 Wagen starken Zug und einer V60 am Zugschluss durchs Bild. Zufrieden könnten wir danach entspannt die Treppe wieder hinunter steigen.

Been to Bamburgh for the last three years and never bothered to snap these concrete blocks near to the beach road parking. Didn't even know what they were, but isn't the internet a wonderful thing... a few choice words and bingo!
These are anti-tank blocks and can be found all along the east coast. These eight at Bamburgh have been painted over the years - there's a pair of dice right at the far end and my favourite... the good old Rubic's cube.
Many people live in their own little world and ignore the big problems like climate protection, war and social injustice!

Die LTG Cargo ER20 010 war am 7. September2025 mit dem Transitzug 79 aus St Petersburg Vitebski Passazhiä nach Kaliningrad-Juschni unterwegs und konnte auf dem bekannten Bahndamm von Kaunas fotografiert werden. Litauen muss diese Züge durchs Land fahren und nutzt zwischen Kena und Kybertai die wuchtige ER20 Loks.
Elke dag rijden meerdere doorvoer-treinen van Moskou of St. Petersburg naar de russische enclave Kaliningrad en terug dwars door Litouwen. De Litouwse spoorwegen moeten deze trein over haar grondgebied vervoeren en gebruiken hiervoor de Siemens ER20 locs. Op de foto komt de LTG ER20 010 met trein 79 'Yantar" uit St Petersburg Vitebski vokzal naar Kaliningrad-Juschni over de bekende dam ten zuiden van Kaunas gereden.
Every day, several transit trains from Moscow and St. Petersburg to the russian enclave Kaliningrad and back run through Lithuania. The Lithuanian railways are tasked with hauling these trains on their soll and use Siemens class ER20 for this. In the picture from September 7th 2025, engine ER20 010 is seen on the well-known dam south of Kaunas with train 79 from St Petersburg Vitebski vokzal to Kaliningrad-Juschn.

«9 липня 1811 р. спалахнув Поділ - нижня і головна тоді частина Києва. Вогонь знищив 2 тис. будинків, 12 церков, 3 монастирі. Це була одна з найпотужніших і найкатастрофічніших пожеж в історії Києва – вистояли лише поодинокі будівлі. Інші - що першим спалахнув будинок тесляра на Спаській вулиці. Ще одні – що спочатку полум'я з'явилося на Костянтинівській.
Поділ тоді був майже дерев'яний. Того дня стояла спека і віяв сильний вітер. Тому вогонь миттєво "перекидався" з однієї садиби на іншу. За три години весь район перетворився, за словами очевидця, на "вогняне море". Горіли дерев'яні будинки, паркани, бруківки, навіть сади. "Заграву вночі можна було бачити за 100 верст", - писав директор Київської гімназії Мішковський. Києво-подільську пожежу за масштабом називає "першою з часів Батия".
Мешканці, які не встигли врятуватися, з криками бігали вулицями, щоби вирватися з вогню. Але, з усіх боків оточені полум'ям, згоряли живцем. Багато Києво-Подолян загинули в льохах і церквах, де ховалися від вогню. Декілька черниць, які знайшли притулок у храмі Флорівського монастиря, задихнулися від диму. Обгорілі кам'яні церкви Подолу залишилися без куполів.
Київ був одним із перших у Російській імперії міст, де з'явилася спеціальна пожежна техніка. Восени 1784 року на гроші, зібрані з ремісничих цехів, київські пожежники придбали три пожежні труби, 39 бочок, 47 багрів. Це перший в Україні випадок централізованої закупівлі пожежної техніки. Але 1811 року все це не допомогло.
1816 року, після завершення Наполеонівських воєн, почалося відновлення Подолу. Цар Олександр I зажадав, щоби цей древній район Києва розпланували по-новому - у регулярному стилі. Надіслав із Петербурга свого зодчого Вільяма Гесте. Той із 1810 фактично був головним архітектором імперії.
У генеральному плані Гесті замість споконвічних на Подолі вузьких вигнутих вуличок та провулків намітив широкі прямі магістралі, паралельні Дніпру, та перпендикулярні до них вулиці.
Центром композиції обрав Контрактову площу. З одного боку її замикали кам'яні, а тому вцілілі під час пожежі, зведені за гетьмана Івана Мазепи Братський монастир та старий корпус Києво-Могилянської академії.»

The Llandudno War Memorial commemorates those men of the area who died in two world wars and takes the form of a high obelisk surmounted by an urn. It stands on the promenade in Prince Edward Square at the top of Gloddaeth Street, Llandudno, North Wales.
The War of The War of 1812 was a conflict fought between the United States of America and the British Empire, from June 1812 to February 1815.
In 1812, Britain's Royal Navy was the world's largest with over 600 cruisers in commission and some smaller vessels. Most of these were involved in blockading the French navy and their allies and protecting British trade against French privateers. The Royal Navy still had 85 vessels in American waters, counting all North American and Caribbean waters.
