The Riace bronzes, also called the Riace Warriors, are two full-size Greek bronzes of naked bearded warriors, cast about 460–450 BC that were found in the sea near Riace in 1972. The bronzes are currently located at the Museo Nazionale della Magna Grecia in the southern Italian city of Reggio Calabria, Italy.
The above reconstructions form the centrepiece at the Altes Museum of Greek and Roman artefacts in Berlin.

Maybe not as famous as the “Terracotta Warriors” of China, but still profoundly significant to this old firefighter. It’s been 60 years since I first stepped onto the “tailboard’ of a fire engine very similar to these veteran workhorses.
There will always be a part of me that misses the nights of sirens screaming, air horns blasting, and rain in my face as my company’s engine raced toward those flames in the sky.

Again SW of Rock Springs. Such a beautiful horse and fearless too. Not that I get too close, that would be so rude!

This female hummingbird is a tough old bird, chasing off others who would sample flowers in her corner of the garden
And they lurk in the background watching over the lands. Strong magnificent scaly wings and nine fluffy large tails. A dragon and a Kitsune warrior. From different ends of the food chain and yet united as one duo to fight crime and punish the bullies.
The bond of brotherhood strengthens. Kinship reigns supreme. There is no mercy given to those who impose suffering.
Pray that the dragon's fire or the kitsune wrath may not be the last vision in your gaze before you are perished...
P.S. It has been awhile since my last furry photo. But lucky for me I have a good friend that helped to keep my Furry addiction alive! Thank you Dragon!

I photographed this tiny weevil, he was about 2 or 3mm long, at Huntley Meadows in Virginia.

HMS Warrior is a 40-gun steam-powered armoured frigate built for the Royal Navy in 1859–1861. She was the name ship of the Warrior-class ironclads. Taken outside the Historic Boatyard, Portsmouth.
HMS Warrior was Britain’s first iron-hulled, armoured battleship. Launched in 1860, at a time of empire and Britain’s dominance in trade and industry, Warrior was the pride of Queen Victoria’s fleet.
Powered by steam and sail, she was the largest, fastest and most powerful warship of her day and had a lasting influence on naval architecture and design. Work and life on board reflected both the changes the Royal Navy experienced as it evolved into a professional service and shifts in Victorian society.
