View allAll Photos Tagged wanting,

After years of wanting to visit the mills at night in the first week of september (because of the lights) last night it finally came to that. No nightshift,no wind or rain. But it was crowded with people, all in the same spot wanting to get the best photo possible. People from all over Europe who sort of camped out on the spot of their desire. There was not a lot of space to get in between them but then again I didn't bother. My camera has its limits and its was the atmosphere I was most curious about. I am sure there are more "picture perfect" photo's then mine but I am sharing anyway.

I FEEL YOU IN THE WIND

I Feel you in the wind sometimes,

I hear you in it's roar.

Reminding me of your presence

Wanting so much more.

I feel your touch in every gush

Sweeping through the meadows

I hear you through the trees

Flying high and free.

In Every season change.

I feel your warm embrace,

Just have to close my eyes

And I can sense you by my side.

I feel you in the wind today

As the storm comes closing in

You found a way to bring us back,

Together once again......

This is Charlie looking through that now famous hole in the gate, the bad news is that hes has been missing now for over a week, he seems to have just vanished, we are all worried for him!

We arrived here about 60 minutes before sunrise wanting to capture that time as the first light starts to appear in the sky. We wanted a lot of time to move around the fields and do different set ups for the shots. I found this area and sat here for about 15 minutes awaiting the breaking sun on the lavender. I really wasn't sure what kind of color I would get with a yellow sun and purple flowers, but I liked it more than I thought.

This is taken at the Lavender Valley Farms in the hills above Hood River.

Posted for Happy Caturday's theme of "Happiness is". Happy Caturday!

When your trying to get a macro shot of an old book and Gordon says me me me :-)

I've been wanting to try and take pretty much this exact shot for some time.

I managed to get out for an evening walk in the local woods on Friday evening and the light was almost perfect. That's the last oppotunity this year for this as the new spring leaves are starting to erupt.

You can find the rest of my woodland shots in this album:-

Do the thing you've been wanting to do so you can move on

I've been wanting to try out my new 10 stop ND filter since I got it a couple of weeks ago. It's been raining a lot but on Monday, the forecast was for cloudy in the morning and raining in the afternoon. So I very quickly grabbed all my gear, checked the tides, and headed out to Whytecliff Park in West Vancouver. When I set up my tripod, I realized I had brought the wrong lens! I packed up my 50mm portrait lens instead. I tried the filter and luckily it fit and I figured it would just have to do. Then it started really pouring rain - that wasn't supposed to happen! I tried to protect my lens and filter from the rain and managed to get a couple of shots in. There were birds flying around and ducks landing and taking off in the water, but none of them show up here, and I wasn't going to add a bird (this time :) ). Anyway, I rushed back up to the car, put the tripod on the roof while I was putting everything away in the downpour and took off. You guessed it, I left the tripod on the roof, but it let me know after a few feet of driving and I was able to retrieve it. At least I was able to spend a little bit of time out in nature and I discovered I really do like my new filter :)

wanting to share to you,my flickr friends some shots from malapascua island that really fed my sight...hope you will like it...hugs....:)

Wanting to see the sunrise for once, I got up early and was greeted by this sight. Amazing morning light.

I have been wanting for a while to do a black and white picture. I didn’t start this one with that in mind, but it developed as one. Hope you like it! Happy Day/Evening! Credits here: BeUnique

I've been wanting to make a picture of this sad video for a long time.

Once in a while I can publish some wistful and sad picture, sometimes there is such a life

English translation:

Dream

Shadows of days and dreams

are turning to tropics

Hands of dreams - black

trying to cover the eyes

your light will reveal why I know

with new day it will return again

Clouds are crawling

wind is breaking them

shadows of your soul

will vanish into dim

in the waves they leave

after hours they disapear

and the moon flush new shadows out

Stream of butterflies carry away the fear

stardust is descending on the leaves

fly throught the fire and still fading away

unhearable steps tap-dancing

in the sky rythm they are swinging

that in the morning, that in the morning they vanish

Shadows of the days grow up nad disapear

lighting up the stars into the sky signs

I know it all, from not far away our steps lead

and the moon flush new shadows out

Stream of butterflies carry away the fear

stardust is descending on the leaves

fly throught the fire and still fading away

unhearable steps tap-dancing

in the sky rythm they are swinging

that in the morning, that in the morning they vanish

Stream of butterflies carry away the fear

stardust is descending on the leaves

and new shadows and new shadows flush out

Been wanting to do this for ages. Weekend spent in a woodland retreat allowed me to spend sometime walking through the Autumn fall and experimenting with the lines and shapes of the trees.

Gravity is working against me

And gravity wants to bring me down

Oh, I'll never known what makes this man

With all the love that his heart can stand

Dream of ways to throw it all away

Whoa, gravity is working against me

And gravity wants to bring me down

Oh, twice as much ain't twice as good

And can't sustain like one half could

It's wanting more that's gonna send me to my knees

Not wanting to flood you all with a tidal wave of NSW outback photos, I figured it was time to switch things up. So here’s a little something from the other side of the globe—this is the stunning Athabasca River in Alberta, Canada, hands down one of the most breathtaking places I’ve ever set foot. No photo can capture its pristine, majestic beauty (though I gave it my best shot, best 100 shots actually ;)

Canada’s west is the kind of place where you want to take your time, soak it all in, and not just rush around cramming as much as possible into a short trip. One day, I’d love to go back and do just that!

Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead!

As we entered Cades Cove, VERY early ... the dew was still heavy, and the sun was not up ... this is what we saw ...

precious little cub wanting to play ... he was more awake than any one ... Right now just don't dare feed them, because the berries are gone, and the acorns have not fallen ...

this is one time you just keep on a trucking ...

I just had to hang my head out the window, and get this picture ... I know I looked ridiculous .. but no one was behind me, and it was worth the stop and shot ...

Have a wonderful Monday everyone ... Cindy

Yes, there is curvature of the horizon, but not wanting to crop the image too much, I decided to keep that feature in the shot.

I found this area and scene by accident, and after completing a hike that was way more stupidity than bravery. The sea stacks, arches and natural formations located on this part of the California Coast would be a photographer’s dream. However, as I found out later, this particular area of the coast is sadly not accessible during sunset or sunrise. Even though I found this out the hard way, I am happy to have photographed here, after such effort.

Urbex is not really my thing, but I have been wanting to shoot the IM Cooling Tower near Charleroi for quite a while, because its graphical nature appeals to me… The hard part is trying to come up with something original in a place that was so “overshot”. Hope I succeeded with this one…

the iris, wanting out.

I am up and alive, kinda. aches and pains but I finally feel like doing something before I poop out in the afternoon.

yesterday I scanned 5 rolls of film developed by Blue Moon Photo in Portland OR. they were efficient and speedy.

I have no idea which camera these came from or which film I used. I just pulled film from all the cameras I had sitting around.

I recognized some pictures being at least 4 years old

now hopefully I can start fresh.

thanks to you persistent ones who kept following me through this gawdawful bad year.

I have been wanting to visit and photograph this castle ever since I saw it in the film Highlander way back in the 80's. Why did I wait so long to visit. Let's hope it wont be another 30+ years. The weather was a bit overcast but I tried to make the most of it with my photographs.

After years of wanting to go, I finally made the trip to the Palouse this past weekend to photograph spring's fresh green crops growing on the rolling hills of Eastern Washington. This grain elevator was my favorite subject of all those around Steptoe Butte.

For those looking at the EXIF data, I haven't switched to Nikon. My friend Chris was borrowing the Tamron 150-600mm zoom lens and I was curious to take a couple of shots with it myself and closely inspect this budget zoom lens' sharpness on my monitor for myself. It's pretty nice, especially for the price! Nice enough that it's my early favorite photo from the weekend.

..Wanting 2 paint the town..

but Feeling like Taking The Threads Off..

I have been wanting to go to this cave for a long time, but I have never got the chance. Ok, the cave can be a little hard to find, but it's not all that far, and too tough to get to. However, it's about 2 hours to get here and there is not really that much cave to see. So, every time we talk about going here, the idea dies because it's just too far for such a small site.

Well, the wife and kids are out of town this week, and I know the dog and I can visit two locations (Dee Wright and Skylight) alone that the family has never really wanted to go to. So it's the dog and I cuddling up in the car overnight again for a milky way image. More on that later.

Anything for a photo.

This cave is a very unique cave. The beams are shy and require a very set of circumstances to appear.

First, you need to be there alone, or at least get people out of your frame. I know everyone wants to add romance by thinking this is a secret cave. Nope. The fact is, it's a tourist attraction. I took a day off of work because I have heard this place can get some crowds. Great plan right? Nope. Fail. All of the magic ingredients were right, but the people of Oregon knew that too and it was crowded. I got lucky though and the all the visitors were very respectful of each other, we all made a great team to be sure to get the images we wanted.

Second, you need Summer Solstice. The actual skylights are surrounded by trees, so you need a sun high, and at the right angle to actually shine down into the cave. that only happens for about three months of the year. Turns out the cave is closed all the other months because it is a bat condo during that time of year.

Third, the shy beams only come out for about three hours a day, between 9 and 11, generally. For me that meant leaving the house at about 5am. I needed extra time because many have a hard time finding the cave.

Fourth, you need a cloudless sky to get the sunshine. Marry all those together and that becomes a very, very narrow window of opportunity.

Turns out everything worked out.

I did loads of research on getting to the cave. The OHV trails to the site were not that bad, I saw one guy there in a minivan. Google maps was actually not too wrong this time (a Miricale). The day was bright, no clouds, and late June was just right. I got there at 8am, way too early, but at least I got to scout the area before the narrow photo window. I was worried that the crowds could be an issue. After all, I had planned to kick up some dust from the cave floor to make the beams stronger. I was worried that this might bug others. Well, self correcting problem, the floor was mud, no dust to be had. I did not need dust, you see those beams?

The main trouble with the shoot itinerary was shooting skylight in the morning and Dee Wright at night, meant there was a lot of time to kill in between. The dog did not mind. He got lots of time playing in the Deschutes River.

Let me know what you think.
