What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare?—
No time to stand beneath the boughs,
And stare as long as sheep and cows:
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass:
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night:
No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance:
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began?
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

Visto che sono in tema B+W e vedendo la foto di Manuel mi è venuto in mente che avevo anch'io una del Palazzo delle Poste a Locarno. Chiaramente da un'altra angolazione e forse non del tutto simmetrica.

Im looking up into this 20 foot metal tree, deciding this would be a good black and white photograph to take one early morning. Now mind you that Missouri is not known for much of their accomplishments in art. Missourians are not artsy fartsy people. But in the city of Blue Springs, Missouri this is our Mona Lisa, our Picasso, hell, I'd even call it our Eiffel Tower.
The Charcoal Broiler, 1985 was a well known eatery of the day, and I believe that his son owned Ruby's on-the-Square and now owns the Beth Marie's ice cream parlors. Grandy's is visible in the center of the photograph, and it's still there. I've heard that it used to be Grand Ma's, and there was a quarrel over name rights, and it became Grandy's (Ruby's had the same problem). Grandy's is still there at the time of this writing. There's also a church in the background.
