The neons all around us were exploding with bright lights, the smell of french fries mixed with grilled meat was tickling our nostrills. I was already drooling with hunger when she grabbed my hand and started running in the direction of the white car, laughing like a child on a Christmas day. She then stopped just in time and turned to me
"Do you remember the first time we came here and sat on this car roof ?"
"Yes I do, it was long ago" I replied with a smile
"One year, nine months and 25 days ago" She replied without a hint of hesitation. "And do you remember what I did ?"
"You made me jump on top of that car!"
She laughed and squeezed my hand gently "I promised you I'd be there through thick and thin, as a best friend would. Today I make the vow to stay through thick and thin, as a Lover would"
She sealed that vow with a deep and sweet kiss, her hand still hoding mine. I suddenly felt a gentle pull as she helped me up to sit on that roof once again, her pinky already holding mine firmly, the most delicate smile gracing her lips as we both closed our eyes to savour the moment.

A marriage ceremony (or "marriage escort") is the ancient way of celebrating a wedding. However, such a ceremony not only binds the bride and groom together, but also two families/clans.
In May 2025, I was invited to a wedding reception as a photographer and guest, and I have to say I can't imagine a more beautiful wedding ceremony.
I would like to share this moment with you.

Eine Eheleite (in die Ehe begleiten) ist die alte Art, Hochzeit zu halten. Bei einer solchen Eheleite werden jedoch nicht nur die beiden Brautleute, sondern auch zwei Familien/Sippen zusammengebunden.
Im Mai 2025 war ich als Fotograf und Gast zu einer Eheleite eingeladen und muss sagen, dass ich mir keine schönere Art der Hochzeitszeremonie vorstellen kann.
Diesen Moment möchte ich mit Euch teilen.

East Vows - A breezy day whipping up a large swell on the Firth of Forth sees waves rolling over East Vows.
With Bass Rock in the background, the beacon aka 'The Birdcage' marks the East Vows rocks hidden at high tide just below the water off the coast of Fife.
