Taal Volcano and Taal Lake
Wow, I was totally surprised and a bit emotional to be back and see this volcano once more. In one of the first year's we visited the Philippines, we climbed on a donkey the beautiful green part, the Binintiang Malaki (Big Leg), one of the dormant parts of Taal Volcano to the volcano lake.
Now, after so many years and totally unexpected we were near the volcano once more.
Unexpected? Yes, we wanted to go to another amusement park, called Enchanted kingdom, but when we got there, it was booked by a big compamy for the whole day (ofcourse, nothing was mentioned of this on the internet, these things happen in the Philippines...), and to have some happy children in the car, we decided to go here, Sky Ranch, with the most magnificent views.
Taal is a very powerful volcano , the whole island is a high-risk area.
Despite the warnings, some families remain settled on the island, earning a living by fishing and farming crops in the rich volcanic soil
It is in Calabarzon on the island Luzon, Philippines
Taal has erupted many times, ands in 2020 was a really big eruption ad and this natural disaster caused many problems.
And now it is so strange and a bit scary to see Taal back in this condition.
Took a shot of some clouds over the desert but it was not a keeper so decided to play with it and see what could be done, this is the outcome….. Isolated the ground and made some adjustments in Photoshop as well as Topaz restyle. Then isolated the sky in Photoshop and manipulated it using Spherize, Wave and Twirl, then worked in Topaz Restyle, Glow and Texture for the bright spot in the upper right, finished in Photoshop with some minor adjustment in curves and added the border. The tree was a tree branch on the right side of the original photo. Original photo in photostream. Liked the outcome for a Slider Sunday posting………………………… HSS
The Volcano is a blended vodka cocktail—or, to put it another way, a highly irresponsible, spiked tropical dessert masquerading as a beverage... Oops That’s what was on my mind as I processed this image.

The Poás Volcano:
The Poás Volcano is a massive, complex arc volcano-tectonic massif located in Costa Rica, possessing such immense structural bulk that it actually deforms gravitationally under its own weight.
Beyond its imposing physical footprint, Poás stands as a globally significant example of a persistently active magmatic-hydrothermal crater lake system, offering scientists a front-row seat to crucial interactions between the Earth's geosphere and biosphere.
Because of its unique environmental features and its highly accessible, central location as a rare "drive-in" volcano, it has become one of the most intensely studied volcanic systems in the region as well as a major international tourist attraction.
The rich continuity of scientific research conducted at Poás—stretching seamlessly from the nineteenth century to the present day—firmly establishes this remarkable site as a cornerstone for the global geoscience community.

Many volcanos in Iceland are under the ice of the glaciers. They form a special landscape of ice and black volcano rocks and sand.

Volcanoes and Stars could be the call of an advertising campaign of tourism on the Atacama Desert. The volcanoes of the Andes range dominate the landscape of this place. When night comes, the Atacama is one of the best places on the planet to observe the stars. In this photo I show you the union of these two nuances of this fabulous place.

Miner at work, Kawah Ijen Volcano, located on the island of East Java, Indonesia.
The Kawah Ijien volcano has a one-kilometer-wide turquoise-colored acid crater lake.
The lake is the site of a labor-intensive sulfur mining operation.
The miners break the cooled material into large pieces and carry it away in baskets. Miners must carry loads, which range from 75 kg to 90 kg, up 300 m to the crater rim, with a gradient of 45 to 60 degrees and then 3 km down the mountain for weighing. Most miners make this journey twice a day. The work is low-paid and the typical daily earnings were equivalent to approximately $13 US...
Not really, but sure looks like a miniature volcano....
The Fishing Cone is a geyser in the West Thumb Geyser Basin of Yellowstone National Park.
The name Fishing Cone can be traced back to tales told by mountain men of a lake where you could catch a fish then immediately dunk it into a hot spring and cook it on the hook. Park visitors used to be allowed to fish off the cone as well but this activity is now prohibited. Would have been fun and so convenient.
Thanks for taking a look! Always appreciated.
Looking towards Etna summit cone.
Alas my summit bid was thwarted by Italian Red Tape. The summit cone of Mount Etna virtually always smokes and just three days after my visit summit pass hiking was once more permitted. Maybe another time.
the basis for the picture was captured in Buddha Garden

The last outbreak of the Krafla was in 1984. During the last eruption, the volcano crater filled with glacial water, which makes up this unique blue color.
The city of Arequipa is surmounted by 3 volcanoes. On the roofs of Saint Catherine Monastery, we see them very well.
You can see here the Chachani which culminates at the respectable altitude of 6075 m (19,997 ft).

The volcanic island is located 48 km off the coast. Captain Cook christened her at the cloud of steam that surrounded her. It is 324 ha large and originated from three other volcanoes. In 1953 it was put under protection of nature and is now private property. White Island is the summit of a submarine volcano and is located in New Zealand.
In November 2012 we did a hike which is called "Paso desolacion". This tour passed volcano Osorno. This picture was taken during this walk and shows the snow covered summit. The blue sky, the white snow and the yellow plants made this place very colorful.
This photo shows the three of the Five Mountains across Lake Nojiriko, namely, Iizuna (飯綱 1,917m), Togakushi/Takatsuma (戸隠/高妻 1,904m/2,353m), Kurohime (黒姫 2,053m) from left to right. Togakushi-yama is not a volcano but Takatsuma, the highest peak of Togakushi Mountain Range (戸隠連峰), is a volcano.
This image was taken while taking off on a flight from the pacific northwest! The top of the volcano was peaking out from a dense cloud cover! Wonderful!
Southward view from the highest point of Shiga - Kusatsu Hihgland Route at an altitude of 2,172 m. This is a reedit with Lightroom of a previously uploaded photo.
Behind the crater of Shiranesan are moto-shiranesan (original Shiranesan) and Asamayama. Jagged peaks to the right of Asamayama is Yatsugatake. Tip of Mt Fuji is seen to the left of Asamayama. They are all volcanoes.
The shooting site is called Shibu-touge pass (渋峠) which is a dividing ridge between the Pacific and Japan Sea slopes and a border between Gunma and Nagano prefectures.
It is on the slope of Yokoteyama (横手山) with an elevation of 2,307 m. It is another volcano.
