Odd-shaped, and with unusual building materials, the University of Toledo Center for Visual Arts contrasts sharply with the adjacent Neo-classical design of the Toledo Museum of Art.

Darkly-oxidized metal shingles coat the outside of the front of the building, (which, to me, make it appear to be a derelict building). The rear of the building are walls of green glass. A sign on the green glass, for some unknown reason, directs viewers to "Look Up."

Designed by prize-winning architect Frank O. Gehry.

(Please see first comment below for the another view of the Center).

The National Art Museum of Catalonia (Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya - MNAC) in Barcelona, Spain, is a museum of Catalan visual art. It is housed on the Palau Nacional on the Montjuïc hill.

The Palau Nacional was built for the International Exhibition in 1929 in the style typical of palaces that housed European royalty. It was designed by architects Enric Català i Català and Pedro Cendoya Oscoz.

The Catalonia National Art Museum has been refurbished by Italian architect Gae Aulenti.

Since 1925, The New Yorker has been one of the symbols for freedom of the press and political stance. Combining reports, reviews, essays, comics, poetry and fiction, the magazine is particularly famous for its covers.

Their evocative power, both creative and original, is unique and mark the collective imagination. The illustrations are created by artists of various styles and from all walks of life.

The collective Le Montréaler was established to celebrate the influence of this magazine in the field of visual art. 62 designers take up the concept of the exhibition The Parisianer and make the covers of an imaginary magazine by paying tribute to the Montreal metropolis in the style of The New Yorker.

Chosen for their talent, their particular style and the diversity of their worlds, the creators had carte blanche and offer you their visions of Montreal. Their creations present you with a contemporary Montreal, multicultural, intoxicating and surprising. A journey through time, space and everyday life that make Montreal a warm and human city.

The exhibition has been shown in Canada, Italy, Taiwan, China and France. You can also discover it at Montreal-Trudeau International Airport.

Other cities have paid tribute to the New Yorker:

- Paris: www.theparisianer.eu

- Tokyo: www.thetokyoiter.com

- Shanghai: theshanghairen.com

- Milan: themilaneser.bigcartel.com

- Bruxelles: thebrusseler.eu/fr/the-brusseler/

in November 2009, i had an exhibition

at The Center of Visual Art BODA, Seoul, South Korea.

Well, it was a small and very short exhibition but the first time i've ever shown my works of photographs outside Thailand. Actually, it was the first time i've ever got on a plane and out of the country .. ha ha - pretty cool for me though.

funny and sad, during this trip, i got sick most of the time, and throughout opening night. It seemed BuNiKa didn't do well in a cold country..

Mother Nature’s Landscape Art. An lot of people spend a lot of time (myself included) creating various forms of visual art, but do we even approach the level of the landscape art in the world around us? I think not. Not even close. At best we can only create a copy or representation of what we see in person. I just hope to give others an idea of what it’s like if they cannot visit for themselves. Mother Nature’s landscape art has taken eons to create and comes in an amazing variety of forms, sizes, and colors. I love the endlessly bizarre shapes that erosion has created, and well as the subtle bands of color imbedded in the rocks. To think that each of these bands represents tens or hundreds of thousands of years is hard to even comprehend. We humans are late-comers to a long story, but we arrive when there is much to appreciate and enjoy. Let’s do our part to preserve this art for those yet to come. ___________________________________ Stacked image focus blended. Foreground: stacked, 35mm, f/4.5, ISO 10,000, 30 sec., Sky: stacked, 35mm, 10 sec, ISO 6400, 10 sec. Low Level Lightning (LLL) was used. Camera WB 4200K, LED color temperature 4900K. This combination was used to create a neutral light color to render the landscape color as true to nature as possible.

Intentional Camera Movement with ND filter. Inside at Sainsbury Centre for Visual Art. I am really liking the effect that a small amount of movement makes. It is trickier than it looks - but I am finding it fun to do every so often. Since I like taking street photography I am trying to take a series of ICM 'street' photos.

Goodbye 2019. Thank you for the good and the bad. Finishing the year with a view!!

Excerpt from www.bwst.ca/the-artists/collins:

Kim is a multidisciplinary artist/graphic designer from Niagara. Captivated by our natural world, her colourful 2 and 3-dimensional pieces express joy and humour. Known for her inventive use of recycled content, Kim paints, collages and stitches together mixed materials to best emphasize aesthetic qualities. Her work has been exhibited in juried, group and duo exhibitions around the GTA. Kim has a B. Des from York University/Sheridan College and a B. Ed (Visual Art) from Nipissing University.

Artist Statement:

I experiment with acrylics and various mixed materials to create paintings and sculptures. My focus is to use recycled content by re-purposing as much as possible. My works are exploratory and interactive, an unexpected element is often revealed through discovery. Ultimately, I strive to create light-hearted pieces that make people smile.
