A spectacular morning hike up to Posforth Gill Falls within the Valley of Desolation, Bolton Abbey. After recent rainfall, the peaty water was absolutely roaring down the gorge. I was incredibly lucky to catch the morning sun striking the mist at just the right angle to throw up a perfect little rainbow at the base. Processed via DxO to retain all the rich textures in the wet rock and foliage.

Scaleber Force is a spectacular tiered waterfall tucked inside Scaleber Woods. Walking down into the gorge feels like stepping into a forgotten world, where the limestone cliffs are draped in emerald moss and the sound of crashing water echoes all around. It's the perfect spot to sit back, breathe in the fresh air, and just listen.

The way the light breaks through the canopy onto the upper tiers of Scaleber Force creates a natural spotlight on the falls, while the foreground remains beautifully moody and grounded.

This vertical landscape photograph captures the multi-tiered beauty of Scaleber Force, a famous waterfall nestled in a deep, wooded limestone gorge near Settle in the Yorkshire Dales.

The composition utilizes a slower shutter speed to give the cascading water a smooth, silky appearance, emphasizing fluid motion against static rock. In the background, the main falls tumble down a sheer, dark limestone cliff face characterized by prominent horizontal strata layered with rich green moss. The water gathers in a shallow plunge pool before spilling over another series of mossy, stone steps in the foreground, where fallen autumn leaves add scattered touches of gold and orange. The deep, sheltered nature of the gorge creates soft, moody lighting that accentuates the lush, damp atmosphere of this classic hidden Dales gem.

A lone gull glides effortlessly as the tide crashes against the ancient chalk cliffs of North Yorkshire. There is something incredibly peaceful yet powerful about watching the waves batter the coastline while the local birdlife remains completely unbothered.

'WHITBY WAR WEEKEND' - 28th AUGUST 2021

The image highlights a collection of traditional stone farm buildings and outhouses perched directly on the riverbank. The weathered textures of the Yorkshire limestone and the rusted corrugated metal roofing tell a story of a working landscape that has stood the test of time. The foreground features the small, stepped waterfalls (weirs) that characterise the river as it flows through the village. The long-ish exposure gives the water a soft, energetic feel.

The buildings show classic Dales construction—sturdy, local stone with small windows designed to keep out the Pennine chill.

No matter what the weather looks like, seaside is one of the best place to freeing your mind. (Salt Burn, Yorkshire).

I wanted to capture the reflection of Whitby Abbey in the due pond on a sunny autumn day. I was happy that the pond was quite shielded from the wind on the hill, so it gave a great mirror surface.
