Walking from tal-Virtu towards Zebbug. Little did we notice that the clouds gathering in the foreground were to give a night of rain.
I distinctly remember not liking this place, in its muted darkness and sharp rays of light piercing the floor here and there. And I remember processing it many moons later, seeing its beauty unfolding before my eyes for the first time - the torn wallpapers, the piano, the heavy curtains, the riches that once were.

Just back from an 11 day UE tour across Europe with mANVIL, tehtks, and deltablackmsb.
3000 miles and 30 locations later, we return with memory cards full of gold. A huge thank you to all of our good friends who helped in some way to make this a huge success. Whether we met up with you, or if we just shared some info via an email, our thanks goes out to... Not very happy with this picture, admittedly, though it would be hard to tell why - but, I thought, this could be a good reason to post it and get some feedback. So here it is.
This is one of the two bronze holy water fonts by Francesco Susini (1615) attached to one of the columns in the Chiostrino dei Voti, Basilica of the Santissima Annunziata (Basilica of the Most Holy Annunciation) in Florence.
In the background, one of the frescoes in the lunettes of the cloister, the most ancient one, a Nativity by Alessio Baldovinetti (1460). The Latin motto "Virtus ex alto" means "Virtue comes from the Heaven (i.e. from God)".
Cerveza artesana tostada, al estilo alemán, sin filtrar ni pasteurizar. Su color rojo cobrizo es producto de la perfecta combinación de sus maltas seleccionadas y del tostado natural de los taninos de la cebada durante el proceso de malteo. Espuma suave, desprendiendo un leve aroma a maltas. Cuerpo limpio y ligero, con sabor intenso, notas a caramelo y regaliz y un delicado amargor.

Virtù, è la abituale e salda capacità di un uomo di eccellere in qualcosa, di compiere un certo atto in maniera ottimale, letteralmente "modo perfetto d'essere". La virtù è anche la qualità di eccellenza morale sia per l'uomo sia per la donna. È detto virtù anche un tratto caratteriale positivo.
La parola latina virtus significa letteralmente "virilità", dal latino vir, "uomo" nel suo senso maschile; ed ancora, proprio dal suo carattere originariamente maschile, essa si riferisce alle abilità guerresche quali, ad esempio, il coraggio. Per una delle molte ironie che ci riserva l'etimologia, in italiano la parola virtù è spesso utilizzata in riferimento alla castità femminile.
