He was one of many who helped to set the scene during Civil War Days, a reenactment set in 1861 that I attended in Port Sanilac, Michigan, in 2016. Abe and Mary Lincoln were there too, and I've added a shot of this gentleman photographing them in the first comment box, for any who may be interested.

I came across some old negatives recently and as I was setting this shot up I remembered them.

I titled this picture puzzling because I find it curious that the imprint of the vintage camera on the paper appears to be so much smaller than the stamp that produced it, even though the stamp was placed on the paper just behind the imprint. It's apparently a matter of perspective, and the angle from which the photo was taken.

Meeting during an afternoon of streetphotography
Started looking for circles - there are lots about!
Pinched one of M's colanders from the kitchen and laid it on its side on a piece of white paper. Used just one lamp to see what would happen. Grabbed the nearest camera which happened to be my old 2003 Lumix that I had used this morning and for the first time set it to the macro setting.
One photo taken!
I had to do a bit of sharpening, used the 'curves' feature, and then produced a negative version - all of which I could possibly have done in-camera before I started if I had known what might result!
At least its different - not a great and recognisable colander but an abstract!

Yesterday I showed you the display cabinet with the Thornton-Pickard Half Plate field camera and gear dated from around 1900. It is part of the "Natural Visions: The Camera and Conservation in Tasmania" exhibition at Launceston's QVMAG. This is a close-up, appropriately for the time in black and white.
3 vintage cameras from my growing collection :o) They need a dust!
(& me in the reflection!)
Happy Tuesday!
The picture was taken with No1A Pocket Kodak Junior (about 1926) and Fomapan 400. Developed in Fomadon R09 1:50.

This will look familiar to some of you...it's a holiday shot from last year when I was deep into my 365. It's one of my favorites so I thought I'd bring it back for a little more love.
Happy Holidays my Flickr peeps! xo
