Teens, Video Games and Civics The first national survey of its kind finds that virtually all American teens play computer, console, or cell phone games and that the gaming experience is rich and varied, with a significant amount of social interaction and potential for civic engagement.

A little bored, and a bit lazy, so I tried a different aesthetic. A faux lofi look with lots of grain and no a lot of sharpness added in post. Two sidelight, but one peaked out a little more than the other. I'm reaching a bit, but isn't that the point of the 365 project?

I've been on the black and white hype lately, haha. Anyways, I've wanted to try a photo of my ps3/controller for a long time, but was never able to really pull it off the way I'd like. This is dedicated to all those kids on summer break. Cherish it while it lasts, the days of summer break are done for me, unfortunately. Boo, working man woes.

My name is Andres Hernandez and I am 18 years old. I am college student, sports addict, videogamer, and amateur videographer/photographer. My passions surround my bed. I keep my DSLR by my side. I rep my bay area sports teams. Finally I keep a movie making prop above my pillow. My dream is have a successful and fun career in the movie/video production industry.

Taking pictures of my valuables did not not successfully portray my life. I think doing this assignment helped me reflect on how a photograph can mean so much. Instead of bragging what I have I explain the value I believe things have. My car for example is old and not worth that much but I cherish the service it provides. My dreams are priceless and I only can put worth to them. Photography is an art that depicts more than any essay or painting can. It actually is worth 100 words. I think the camera doesn't take the picture you do. You find the perfect situation and the camera helps immortalize it. With any camera you can find that perfect moment. I wasn't disappointed at all when doing this assignment. This is the first actual photographing homework. Why would I feel disappointed? I think I'm more eager to learn more than I feel sad that I don't know many of the camera's controls. I think my biggest success was portraying my ordinary life. I don't feel like there was anything I missed. My life isn't showy but I'm proud of my knowledge and experiences.

Transformers War For Cybertron.

Something told me when Lif got tagged that it'd be me soon... here you guys go

1. I guess I'll start off with what I do... I'm currently a graduate student in Missoula, Montana, United States studying computer science. Specifically, my research involves using computers to create simulations of glaciers and ice sheets in Antarctica.

2. I am a huge nerd in a lot of ways. For starters, I run Linux (and do all of my photo editing on it too, no photoshop for me!)

3. I love classical music. And not just Bach/Mozart/Beethoven, I mean everything up to and sometimes including 20th century experimentalists. It would be impossible for me to name some favorite pieces, I could go on for pages (but if you're looking for something neat and super obscure, might I suggest Tviett's 4th piano concerto 'Aurora Borealis'?)

4. Despite that, I still sometimes feel the need to crank the Zeppelin.

5. I like singing, and have been a tenor in several high school, college, and church choirs.

6. Though not a "hardcore" videogamer, I do enjoy playing them every once in a while. One of my favorite recent (though not that mainstream) games has been Braid just because of its creativity. I also recently enjoyed Bioshock and Mass Effect, and every once in a while I pick up a plastic guitar...

7. I read a lot of hard science fiction. One of my favorite sci-fi books is "Manifold: Time" by Stephen Baxter. My favorite nonfiction book is "Gödel, Escher, Bach" by Douglas Hofstadter. This might have something to do with being a computer scientist.

8. My current favorite movie is The Fountain, followed by Das Leben der Anderen (The Lives of Others). This will probably change quickly.

9. My parents learned how to make sushi from a Japanese exchange student years ago and now it is one of my favorite foods.

10. I went to New Zealand my freshman year of college because it looked so pretty in the Lord of the Rings films (and yes, I did tramp around looking for things like the exact tree that the hobbits used to hide from the ringwraith or the part of a river that was used as the Ford of Bruinen)

11. That was one of only three times I've been out of the US to somewhere other than Canada (so far, I'm working to bump that number up a bit!). The other two have been less than a year ago, and are reflected in my photostream.

12. I still remember the first time I used a camera. My parents let me take pictures of mountains on a camping trip when I was four.

13. I shoot with a Sony SLR that I got a year ago for Christmas. It's the first SLR I've used. It's also the first camera that I've owned rather than borrowed from someone else when I wanted to photograph something. That includes camera phones.

14. As of a year ago, photography is my primary hobby.

15. I have had appendicitis.... twice.

16. I got married last summer in my aunt-in-law's back yard.

I went to the Houston Symphony's presentation of the Legend of Zelda thanks to an invitation by Ginger. Another concert I get to go to for free lol

Ginger intended to just get a picture with other cosplayers— she's Marin. If I were a big videogamer I would know these characters names— everyone with a camera and Zelda gamer appreciation stopped by to shoot them while they were lined up. There was pictures of them, pictures with them... other cosplayers showed up... I tell you, I will not mistake Link for Peter Pan again!

Overall, I think we spend about 30 minutes after the concert waiting for Ginger to finish up her photoshoot. I thought it was hilarious. I'm sure the "characters" appreciated the attention, considering how long they probably worked on their costumes!

I enjoyed the music, but surely not as much as some of the sobbing audience members I could make out.
