Reed Warbler - Acrocephalus scirpaceus
The Reed Warbler is a medium-sized warbler of reedbeds. A summer visitor to the UK, it weaves its nest as a sling between two or three reed stems, and lays three to five eggs in it. Forming monogamous pairs, both parents raise the chicks.
Reed Warblers are common victims of brood-parasitism by Cuckoos.
It is migratory, wintering in sub-Saharan Africa.

De toutes ces haines stupides,
ces fleurs que l’on écrase
à l’aube de l’éclosion
au nom d’une pensée
aux couleurs différentes
ou de légitime frivolité
se baignant dans l’air libre.
De tout ce sang versé
qui célébrait la vie,
ces innocences bafouées
dans la terreur, le carnage,
que faire, que répondre
sinon continuer à nous ouvrir
comme pétales au soleil
avec la caresse du vent,
la bienveillance de la terre
qui berce d’un même rythme
le monde en entier.
Chantez avec des fleurs,
fêtez toutes les couleurs,
portez l’amour en bandoulière,
allongez-vous sur des parterres odorants,
respirez les sourires, respirez les sourires
même à l’ombre,
même au soir triste,
respirez les sourires
qui ne se voilent.

These are the stripped remains of the British steamer “H.M.S.Crested Eagle” on the beach of Zuydcoote (near Dunkirk). The wreck is a tragic reminder of the WWII Dunkirk evacuation: operation Dynamo. The Crested Eagle run aground on May 29, 1940 after being attacked by German dive bombers and set on fire, killing more than 300 soldiers and crew.
The Crested Eagle was one of 228 larger boats lost in the operation. Including the smaller boats, the number of ships sunk is more than 300.
je me sens démunie devant tant de souffrance, ne pouvant rien faire que d'offrir une fleur en mémoire des victimes
I feel helpless - so many tragedies - all I can do is to give a flower in memory of the victims

Sanibel Island beaches were awash with many victims of a stormy high tide. Numerous starfish, conch, sea urchins and many others joined the sun-bleached shells of previous storms.
I joined several beachcombers who attempted to return living creatures back to the water, but how successful that endeavor was...?
This is a 9-armed Starfish (Millipede Starfish). Starfish are not actually "fish", but are Echinoderms.
"The composition titled 'Shoes on the Danube Bank' gives remembrance to the 3,500 people, 800 of them Jews, who were shot into the Danube during the time of the Arrow Cross terror.[2] The sculptor created sixty pairs of period-appropriate shoes out of iron. The shoes are attached to the stone embankment, and behind them lies a 40 meter long, 70 cm high stone bench. At three points are cast iron signs, with the following text in Hungarian, English, and Hebrew: "To the memory of the victims shot into the Danube by Arrow Cross militiamen in 1944–45.
If we get the right information from our society during development, and if our body do chemical, physical, biological and psychological functions well, we do well.

Oh, hush, my dear, it's been a difficult year, And terrors don't prey on, Innocent victims, Trust me, darling, trust me darling
It's been a loveless year
I'm a girl of three fears, Integrity, faith and
Crocodile tears, Trust me, darling, trust me, darling
So look me in the eyes, tell me what you see
Perfect paradise, tearing at the seams, I wish I could escape, I don't wanna fake it, wish I could erase it, make your heart believe
But I'm a bad liar, now you know,
I'm a bad liar, now you know, you're free to go ♥

This ossuary built in 1476, shelters the corpses mummified by the cold, lost dead in the pass, victims of the mountain and whose bodies have not been claimed. Object of morbid curiosity, it was walled up around 1950.

we have to honor them like all victims of war and we have the duty to avoid hatred , war and oppression.
[...] In an age when man has forgotten his origins and is blind even to his most essential needs for survival, water along with other resources has become the victim of his indifference [...]

The ivey on the side of a UBC (University of British Columbia) building appears to be slowly but inexorably devouring its victim
It had been a long night with questioning persons of interest, the victim’s ex-husband, his girlfriend and the victim’s current boyfriend. And they had been searching for clues and arguing about them.

Many years ago and in another life, my work took me to almost every prison in the state. Some were grim places, others places of opportunity and positive energy. One such prison had a dairy, piggery, bakery and the prisoners farmed their own vegetables. They also had magnificent flower gardens.
Which brings me to today's theme, flowers from the prison garden. Taking photos of inmates was forbidden, but I managed to get a shot of this Spider who was serving a life sentence with no chance of parole. Apparently he had been the central figure in a web of deceit that claimed many unsuspecting victims. Do the crime and do the time, as they say.
