Designed and built in 1929. The ballroom was a major venue for bands of the 1930s and 1940s. Built in an Art Deco styling with an Aztec theme. At 5600 sq feet, it was meant to hold around a 1000 couples. The maple dance floor was built on springs to give the dancers a bounce as they moved.
After closing around 1958, it reopened in the mid 60s as a concert venue. With shows a couple times a week, bands such as the MC5; The Stooges; and Ted Nugent and The Amboy Dukes played here. Soon the doors closed again.
Also more recently featured in a the Eminem movie, "8 Mile".
It now sits empty, neglected and dilapidated like many other historic locations in Detroit.
The Kihikihi Domain is a huge, multi-purpose sports centre located south of the Te Awamutu township...
It is renowned as New Zealand's premier venue for international horse trials , also providing a cross-country course and purpose-built arenas for dressage and show-jumping. As well as equestrian activities, Kihikihi Domain is also home to the speedway race track, and its fields are busy most weekends with team sports.
A very thriving Attenborough Nature Reserve (set in the borough of Broxtowe, Nottingham, United Kingdom). Owned by the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust it's a popular venue for birdwatchers, families and photographers alike.
This bevy of swans showed no fear of humans and they were eager to entertain and be entertained. I love the 'S' of the swan’s neck and how his profile frames the left side of the shot and that the other two prominent swans plus the sunburst and lens-flare all direct the eye to him. Though it was a cold late afternoon the warmth of the sun on one’s skin was equal to the warmth that it gives this image.

“Ben Venue” (2392ft) may be small in stature but it is a mountain of real character the finest in the Trossachs when seen across Loch Achray. The ascent is a great walk with both boggy and rocky ground higher up, and stunning views from the summit over Loch Katrine and Loch Venachar. Sitting right at the bottom of the mountain if you look closely is the“Loch Achray Hotel” owned by Lochs and Glens Holidays and it makes a great base to explore all that the Trossachs area of Scotland has to offer.
If you have not been to the majestic music venue at Templemore City you are missing out on a real gem of Second Life. Not only do they have a long list of talented artists that sing live, but the sim is also pure magic. Check it out soon!
Now, I am not a blogger for this very talented lady but let's face it there are very few that can pull off the gowns she creates. Some things have changed in Second Life and we do not wear these types of apparel much anymore. I hope this is a revival of all that is fun and glamorous in our Second Life. Heaven knows we all need a touch of sparkle in our lives right now.

I imagine finding venue space for temporary exhibits, like those featured in this month's Galway International Arts Festival, to be challenging... both for the organisers, and sometimes their patrons. Take the painting and photography exhibition featured on my Flickr page this week as an example: one must approach a doorway (not shown) by first proceeding toward this rather intimidating back alley... Yikes! In retrospect, it did offer me the opportunity to capture this chunk of urban decay with my camera, and appreciate the textures, light, shadows, and geometry that make the place what it is.
(PS: see if you can spot the bird...)

Smokefest is a passion project set to bring music lovers from all across the grid to one venue for 4 amazing nights. Every Saturday in January is a new mix of singers and DJs are set to perform on a very unique stage that provides a one of a kind show featuring dancers and a synced light show.
The sim itself is a destination all its own. The festival is surrounded by the beauty of red rocks and custom festival artwork scattered throughtout the land. Patrons will have the opportunity to run around and take fun photos at their leisure. Be sure to tag us at #SMOKEFEST2023.

Loch Achray is a small freshwater loch 11 kilometres west of Callander in Stirling district, Scotland. The loch lies between Loch Katrine and Loch Venachar in the heart of the Trossachs and has an average depth of 11 metres.
The "Egg", balanced in front of the Capital building in Albany, New York, is a venue for the performing arts. 518. Pentax.
Loch Katrine is a freshwater loch and scenic attraction in the Trossachs area of the Scottish Highlands.
It is the fictional setting of Sir Walter Scott's poem The Lady of the Lake and of the subsequent opera by Gioachino Rossini, La donna del lago.

Indiana Repertory Theatre
The Indiana Theatre is a multiple use performing arts venue located at 140 W. Washington Street in Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built as a movie palace and ballroom in 1927 and today is the home of the Indiana Repertory Theatre. It was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Place
In June 2009, the Queen of the Islands was sold to a private businessman from North Vancouver and renamed the "Spirit of the Nation" in honour of the Squamish Nation, in whose waters she sits. She is permanently moored in Mosquito Creek Marina near the Seabus terminal on the North Shore and has undergone extensive renovation converting it into a wedding and event venue allowing people to have a "supernatural" BC event or wedding without having to leave the conveniences of the city.[1]

A combination of two shots from the industrial area where my son's kickboxing venue is situated.
Cette sittelle est venue me voir lorsque j'observais une chouette lapone. Il s'agit d'une femelle car ses plumes sur le dessus de la tête sont grises. Celle du mâle sont noires.
This nuthatch came to see me while I was observing a great grey owl. It's a female because the feathers on the top of its head are grey. The male's are black.

‘Shrugborough’………Another National trust venue over the border to Staffordshire but still only just over half an hour away. We had good weather and plenty of interest in the sky to eke out. Well done NT for making it a safe and comfortable place to be - we had no worries and pleased to see hands on cleaning going on in all the right places. One way systems in place work a treat too. Alan:-)………..

A concert where all the regular musicians associated with the venue performed for free in support. Fortunately, the audience also showed their support by showing up in large numbers, in fact it was impossible to get a seat for the first hour. Great music and a warm atmosphere.

I have seen Tom Černý last year at different venue and with different group. This October he played in Jazz Dock, a premier jazz club in Prague. The group playing New Orleans style of music is called 'Cotton Gang' of Prague
The band was formed at the end of the last century on the school benches of the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Czech Technical University.
The usual members are:
Alice Bauer – vocal;
Miroslav Výravský – cornet,trumpet;
Tomáš Černý – clarinet, sax;
Tomáš Velínský – trombone;
Jaromír Kadlec – piano;
Jiří Hladký - banjo, guitar;
Jan Stolba – barisaxophone;

Alice was sick, so there were fewer vocals. Tomáš Velínský was one of the vocalists.
