I figured it would only suit him because he is an illustrator. Plus, I thought this would look pretty nifty as a vector. See previous photo to take a look at the original.

I thought some might be curious to see the vector paths on an average illustration. The different colors show you the different layers. Layer one is the blue vectors, with clouds, two is in green with the hill, and three is the plane in yellow.

 

To those who haven't experienced Illustrator or vectors: The little squares are called anchor points, and the "wires" as a whole are the basis of vector art. Each square has information delaring it either a corner or a curve. Curves allow for fluid shapes and circles, and corners make sharp angles of any degree.

I was requested to do vector portraits for the board of directors at work. The request was for something with a realistic feel, and this is the outcome.

This was a project for computer imagery, where we had to make vectors of ourselves. I used the pen tool to make the shapes of the shadows, and used the paint bucket to fill in the colors

Vectors rely on a grid of mathematical precision whereas watercolor painting is quite the opposite; a flow of color bleeding across the page, difficult to control and largely dependent upon the surface, brush, and amount of water used. So what would happen if the two techniques somehow mixed? Could you have vector watercolor? The answer is, yes:
