When I was a teenage I started smoking. I didn't do it often or in front of people. I would steal my mom's cigarettes and smoke behind the shed in my yard while taking my dog out. I continued for about 3 years. That is when I met my now husband and started dating him. I never told him I smoked but the day of my grandpa's funeral I was really stressed out and told him I needed to calm down and a cigarette would help me. He was surprised and after that day challenged me to quit. I did and cannot imagine ever doing it again. My parents and other relatives eventually all quit too. I am so grateful to my husband for helping me create a better healthier future for myself.
