I don't know what is better for you, smoking or vaping but that is a whole lot of vape :) I saw him vaping and thought it would make a good pic :) Another fun photo from our ride yesterday!
An F-35B from VMFA-121 throwing a ton of vapes while moving into position to take fuel from a KC-130J. You can even see a vapor trail coming off the refueling probe.
Shot for an article I wrote for AirForces Monthly on 4th-gen/5th-gen fighter integration in the Marine F/A-18 and F-35 communities.

Street photography using an ancient manual focus TLR camera has it's challenges. On one hand, because the camera uses a waist level viewfinder (meaning that the camera is not brought up to the eye) it's not as intrusive therefore people are not as wary of the camera. On the other hand it's bl**dy difficult to focus quickly and accurately. There is a saying among street photographers - "f8 and be there" - meaning that you set your aperture to f8 (or f11) and leave it there. If you then zone focus to somewhere between 20 and 40 feet it means that most of what you photograph on the street will be in an acceptable focus because of the relatively narrow aperture and the increased depth of field it gives. This was my modus operandi for this shot and thankfully most of the frame is indeed in focus (don't pixel peep please!).

Some wedding photography outside a stately home in Germany. I was somewhat suprized to see this but I guess she needed to release tension on an exciting day.
While walking through downtown Scranton we saw this happy squirrel hanging out of a window, next to an air conditioner, with his own little vape thing.
I never know what I will see in my travels.
Ok…one more (maybe) shot from the Blue Angels practice of 23 April, 2025.
This is “Fat Albert” the USMC’s C-130J Super Hercules used by the squadron to haul support personnel and parts to airshows when away from Pensacola.
I only share this shot as until I was editing it, I had no idea that I had captured it producing vapor trails “vapes” from the tips of the props…making it a much cooler shot than I thought while watching it live.

This has to be on of the best auroas I have seen. It was on the last evening before we flew back ,staying near Tromso. Some of us had gone back to the accommodation to rest, but the aurora just then really kicked off. Thanks goes to Ross Scott who's idea it was to have an aurora coming from out of the chimney LOL.
