The de Havilland Vampire was a British jet fighter developed and manufactured by the de Havilland Aircraft Company. Work on the aircraft began during the Second World War as a largely experimental aircraft suitable for combat that harnessed the groundbreaking innovation of jet propulsion; it was quickly decided to opt for a single-engine, twin-boom aircraft equipped with the Halford H.1 turbojet engine (later the de Havilland Goblin). Originally ordered as an experimental aircraft only, the decision to mass-produce the aircraft as an interceptor for the Royal Air Force (RAF) was finalised in May 1944.
In 1946, the first production aircraft entered service with the RAF, only months after the conflict had come to a close. The Vampire was the second jet fighter, after the Gloster Meteor, operated by the RAF and the first to be powered by one jet engine. Aside from its propulsion system and twin-boom configuration, it was a relatively conventional aircraft. The Vampire quickly replaced many wartime piston-engine fighter aircraft and was in front-line service until 1953, after which the Vampire was primarily assigned to secondary roles such as pilot training and ground attack, for which specialist variants of the type were produced.
In 1966, the type was retired by the RAF, after being replaced by more capable jet-powered fighters such as the Hawker Hunter and Gloster Javelin. During its service, the Vampire had achieved several aviation firsts and records, including becoming the first jet aircraft to traverse the Atlantic Ocean. It had been sold to many nations and operated in a wide range of environments around the world. Vampires participated in several conflicts, including the 1948 Arab–Israeli War, the Malayan emergency and the Rhodesian Bush War.
Almost 3,300 Vampires were manufactured, a quarter of them built under licence in other countries. The first jet fighter Royal Navy was the Sea Vampire, a naval variant which was operated from its aircraft carriers. The Vampire was developed into the DH.115 dual-seat trainer and the more advanced DH.112 Venom ground-attack and night fighter.

Did you know, in Balkan folklore, a pumpkin or watermelon left out on a full moon or after Christmas would become a vampire? I’ll bet someone blundered while chopping stuff and cut themself, then tried to blame it on the watermelons! Everyone thought it was so funny, they kept pretending to believe it was true. I don’t really know if that’s how it happened, but it is historically documented that there was such a legend.

One of the Norwegian pair of Vampires , now in RAF colours .
The Vampire pair are getting a re-paint for 2018 in historical RAF Colors. One of them has a good NI connection with the markings of 72 Squadron being painted on the jet for this year. .
VZ305 will be in 72 Squadron markings.
And WZ447 will be in Squadron markings.
( I think that should have been 4 squadron )

It's a strange MOC born when I was experimenting with the use of ship masts. Since they remind me of religious crosses, I wanted to create something deliberately mystical.

The misunderstood Brisbane Vampire called Darkday hides out in her favorite storm drain called Possum's Eel Cave while the killer sun shines overhead. She said in an interview that eels and possum's were quiet tasty if one required a little bite
Sun sets over Badlands National Park in South Dakota. This interesting section is called the "Vampire Peaks" so named because early visitors in the 1800s observed large numbers of bats circling the tips. This location is just inside the entrance to the park's North Unit at Interior and is within sight of the Ben Reifel Visitor Center. I was grateful for that single cloud as evening set in. For most of our visit here we had completely cloudless skies. If you interested in keeping up with my work look for Robert Garrigus Photography over on Facebook.
Cheers!

The vampire maiden can't satiate her bloodlust, she finds herself becoming more and more ravenous and must feed.
Who will be her next victim?

This is not homage to Twilight or anything, I love vampires but I'm not a fan of the series. And I'm not sure if the term ELFPIRE actually exists, but if it does I'm not aware, it's just something I came up with when talking about those mythical creatures.

A close-up shot of an Nazi vampire. A Panzer commander to be exact. I don't have an German Officer sadly. So the panzer commander have to do for now.
These Nazi vampires makes a small appearance in a stop-motion project that has yet to be released as I'm writing this introduction.
These characters belong to the Characters Of The Weird category because. They're weird.
The concept of Nazi Vampires (This version) is based on the Nazi Vampires from the ''Letzte Bataillon'' (Last Battalion) an elite group of Waffen-SS soldiers who were transformed into vampires from the Millennium Organization
of the Anime and Manga: Hellsing and Hellsing Ultimate.
These Nazi Vampires choose to switch sides. They choose for the evil side as their normal counterparts choose for the Resistance against the Evil.
They will appear in a project called: Lego War: Battle Of Mo-Wol, a spin-off of another project of mine called: Lego Gateway: To The Land Of Weird And Madness. This project will be the second spin-off as the first spin-off is called: Lego War: Battle Of Tali-Lok.
Basically it's about a conflict between the good and the evil in a world that doesn't make sense.
I love the outcome of the picture. The cool lighting is giving it a nice mood. I made a couple of diffrent shots of the vampire wich I will release later on.
