I took this in my neighborhood of Mira Mesa Art which is painted on the electrical boxes. All of the boxes are painted by local artist that are trying to beautify our neighborhood. The artist are all from different backgrounds, are at different skill levels and are using different styles of painting.
After cutting the apron pattern, trim the whole thing with bias tape. If you're going to add a hammer loop add that before doing the bias tape. I used strips of leather to trim the very top of the pocket and apron, but you can just use bias tape. Then decide where you want to attach the pockets, and sew them in place.
For the straps I used webbing, and added leather tabs to the top and sides of the apron with rectangular rings for attaching the webbing to the apron. I actually added hooks at the sides, so the apron could be taken off easier. I wish I had added a way to tighten the webbing when the apron is like a buckle of some sort.
