Hangin' Out in Butch Cassidy Country.

Shot from in the water, picking my spot and then standing still waiting for the water to return to its peaceful state to capture this magnificent scene. The natural beauty that I have seen so many times; always takes my breath away.

The Great Salt Lake - GPS is not the exact spot of the shot.

This place is where early Mormons settled. It's no wonder why they chose these spots; they are splendid!

What a pretty night to behold this past year ... hoping to spend more fun times taking photos in 2020.

Happy New Year!

I was able to see an amazing sunset over the Colorado River in SE Utah from Dewey Bridge in September. Its really hard to draw the line of where my imagination of how colorful the scene was compared to the photo I captured but I remember it being this vivid. I am going to post two photos one in landscape and one in portrait. let me know which you prefer.

In geomorphology, a butte (/bjuːt/) is an isolated hill with steep, often vertical sides and a small, relatively flat top; buttes are smaller land-forms than mesas, plateaus, and tablelands. The word "butte" comes from a French word meaning "small hill"; its use is prevalent in the Western United States, including the southwest where "mesa" is used for the larger land-form. Because of their distinctive shapes, buttes are frequently landmarks in plains and mountainous areas. In differentiating mesas and buttes, geographers use the rule of thumb that a mesa has a top that is wider than its height, while a butte has a top that is narrower than its height.(Wikipedia)

Started reviewing the unprocessed images from our 2019 Utah trip and will begin to post some of them. These ancient colorful sand dunes are 190 million years old and consist of high-angled cross-bedded sandstone. It's a great place to climb and explore on foot.
