The 1930's Washington's Headquarters Museum is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The museum features three exhibit galleries and an introductory video. It is the view looking north from the rear of the Ford Mansion that reveals the intent and inspiration of the Museum’s architect, John Russell Pope. From this perspective, the building strongly evokes of the sweep and grandeur of George Washington’s own Mount Vernon. Pope, the architect of the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, DC, designed a structure that would secure the substantial collection of the Washington Association and other acquisitions, today numbering more than a half-million pieces. Inside, original documents, textiles, paintings, period weapons, prints, china, maps, and other artifacts—less than 1% of which have ever been seen by the public—are housed in its vaults. And outside, the stately character of Washington’s own hand in the architecture of Mount Vernon is echoed.

Pier A was originally used as a pier for ships and was recrafted as a park in 1999. It extends from the southern end of Hoboken (just north of the Hoboken Terminal) east into the Hudson River, with a view of the entire Manhattan skyline. This church was built in 1869 at a cost of $8100. Its original purpose was to serve mining families in the area. The land was donated by Mr. C. Beach, and the funds for the building were contributed chiefly by the mining companies. In 1871, a parsonage was erected at a cost of $2200. The house was furnished at a cost of $325, and the parsonage library was added. The church was sold to the Lutheran congregation from Lake Telemark in 1952. In 1969, the Lions Club purchased the church and property and donated it to Rockaway Township for use as a public library.

Our answer to Central Park was Lincoln Park located in the Bergen Area of the city. It is Jersey City's largest and most elaborately designed park. It was originally called West Side Park until 1930 and was designed by landscape architects Daniel W. Langton and Charles N. Lowrie in 1905. The name of the park was changed when the Lincoln Memorial was installed at the main entrance.
