This GBH was screaming at a Red-tailed hawk that landed about 15 feet away from him. His response with all the neck feathers extended was rather dramatic, but got the point across. I was amazed to see how upset he was.

Well, it appears that some of my friends have had problems commenting on my pictures. When I went to check my settings it had been changed to only I could comment. This has happened before and it was reported to flickr. When I had contacted flickr about this I wasnt really given an explanation but only told to check my settings. Has this happened to anyone else? I used www.picnik.com to edit some of my photos and this could be the issue. But the first time it happened, I did not used picnik.com

The Franco-Prussian war was fought between France and Prussia between 1870-1871. The causes vary but some include fears of Prussia's growing power and leadership of the North German confederation. The French believed this will upset the "balance of power" that's been in place since 1815. Due to simmering tensions both nations went to war. Prussia was helped by the Southern German states of Baden, Bavaria, Wurttemberg and Hesse-Darmstadt. The Prussians mobilized a army very quickly and invaded France. Due to poor leadership and poor training the French lost the was to the North German confederation. The Final war for German unification was over. Germany soon annexed the Alsace-Lorraine and had a military occupation in France until all of the reparations were paid off.
Tensions between the German Empire and France remained very high and in 1914 both countries would go to war again in WWI.
