Unseen Photo Fair in Amsterdam was a wonderful experience for me. The world of photography has been more extensive than I expected. Emerging talents from all over the world amazed me by their imagination, creativity and craftsmanship; on the other hand, I felt that what photography has achieved was sometimes neglected. In other words, they don't need the realities in front of them now… Anyway, participating in Unseen made me think about what I actually want to do. It's getting more and more difficult and interesting to take/make pictures…

When a person grows up feeling unseen

they learn to love by over giving.

They pour into everyone else hoping that one day

someone will finally pour back into them.

So they become the caretaker, the fixer, the one who shows up when no one shows up for them.

And the hardest part?

Deep down they are not trying to be strong, they are just waiting for someone to do for them what they have spent their whole life doing for someone else.

I sprained my wrist and won't be able to develop film for a while. Meanwhile posting a round of old stuff.

What you see is Castle Rock (Lóndrangar) in Snæfellsness, Iceland. What is unseen is the wind causing the ice particles to hit the lens and sting my skin. I was pleased with how this photo turned out, but it brings back memories of my struggle to stay focused on the shot and to ignore the weather.

I love to capture Infrared images. I do not shoot them enough. Here is an image in the Great Smokey Mountains on a cloudy, rainy day. Infrared sees the unseen light that is available, the light we can't see.

Thanks for stopping by

While attempting to take some images of my beautiful, flowery, flashy daisy's on a nice foggy morning I wasted a couple of images (hey kids remember film??) on the bamboo, lurking as always, above the flowers --- I've walked by it literally thousands of times and never really noticed the beauty of the bamboo until just now...

Just the sun trying to burn through the fog last week.

Flickr acting up again tonight refusing to let me comment or invite on some contacts. Hitting "Enter" in the comment box intermittently acts in the old way to move down a line but sometimes closes the comment box. I'm not going on Flickr tomorrow as a protest rather than posting a red image which generates more views.

I submitted to be in this event not just in honor of family and friends past and present who have served but 4 guys whom I hope had it better than it appeared to a stranger.

- The old watcher of 34th who had half a jaw and silently watched unseen horrors day in and day out for years.

- The Native American Chief (as written on his leather jacket by him) who had impressive presence and dignity.

- The Tank Commander of the 22 city bus route, who continued driving that tank for years and shouting commands at the dang uncooperative passengers - I salute you one last time.

- To Guy no thats his name Guy with his metal plate funny jokes and helping me out one time.

I hope others remember them well or better, but this is my tribute to them.

Pak Bia Island

Really enjoyed this picturesque little island. The sky was gloomy and It wasn’t that busy when we went and lovely section for swimming and great landscape for pictures between the islands!

People often seek long-lasting and extraordinary pleasures — like unique trips or rare experiences. But in doing so, they tend to overlook the simple joys, like watching a sunset or sipping a quiet cup of tea. And yet, it’s in those small moments — the ones we never even considered — that true peace is often found.
