En Esperanto: la biciklistoj estas Rasmus Tiller and Tobias Johannessen (Teamo UNO-X Pro Cycling). Ambau biciklistoj estas el Danlando.
Rasmus Tiller and Tobias Johannessen of the UNO-X Pro Cycling Team. Both riders are from Denmark. Rasmus won Stage 7 of this tour (finishing in Gloucester) adding to several Pro race victories already on his palmares. He's definitely gaining prominence on the Pro circuit - some commentators on Euro Sport TV seem to love him too. He's a big strong rider, who I think will win some major races in the near future.
I discovered on Google Maps that this used to be a local Saab dealer. Taken from the car; the dark spot on the sky in the upper right is dirt on the car window.

Parcours verkenning Veluwemeertocht 2010
ELBURG/HARDERWIJK - De Veluwemeertocht, een van de twaalf natuurijsklassiekers van de Koninklijke Nederlandse Schaats Bond (KNSB), wordt dinsdag verreden. Volgens de deskundigen van de bond is het ijs op het Veluwemeer dan dik genoeg. Het zal voor het eerst sinds 8 januari 1997 zijn, dat de marathonschaatsers zich weer eens aan deze wedstrijd kunnen laven.
De mannen rijden een tocht over honderd kilometer. De vrouwen moeten zestig kilometer afleggen. De eerste voorbereidende werkzaamheden werden gistermiddag al op het Veluwemeer getroffen. Het schoonvegen van de baan trok als een magneet enkele schaatsers aan. De KNSB heeft overigens ook toestemming gegeven voor de natuurijsklassieker de Ronde van Loosdrecht. Die wedstrijd is komende maandag.

Kijkduin is niet beroemd om de nieuwjaarsduik, maar elk jaar weer een feest om met camera naar toe te gaan. Lekker kleinschalig, geen unox-worst te bekennen.

The New Year’s dive is a tradition since 1920. About 2000 people participate. And in Moscow they ice dive since men can remember. After cutting a deep hole in the ice people plunge into the Moskva River (Москва).
In Scheveningen the dive started in 1965, when seven hardened men defied the cold winter to take a dive into the North Sea. It was and still is organized by the Swimming Club “Residentie”. In recent years the New Year’s dive has become very popular. It is now sponsored by Unox, a big food company. In 2023 approximately 10.000 people participated. The water temperature of 7° C; which is rather warm with regards to earlier dives. The outside air temperature was at almost a record height of 11 degrees.
Since mid 90’s Unox, a big food company, sponsores the New Year’s dive. Besides the orange headgear and mittens, they afterwards served their brand of streaming hot pea soup (erwtensoep in Dutch). Traditionally eaten in winter and it has very thick consistency, often includes pork and sausage. Once someone said: "You should be able to stand a spoon upright in a good pea soup."
The traditional New Year's dive in Scheveningen, in The Netherlands, was cancelled for the second year due to the current strict Covid-19 restrictions. However, a couple of hundred people went into the sea this Saturday morning anyway. Some at precisely 12 o’clock and many other before or after.
Two years, tens of thousands of people went into the North Sea on the first day of 2020. This year, the organization found it again irresponsible to have so many people gathering on the beach due to the risk of contamination with the corona virus. The big sponsor Unox even came up with an alternative: a can of seawater to pour over your head at home. The so-called #thuisduik.
During the first thuisduik in 2021, only a few dozen took a genuine plunge as it was rather cold. This year, the circumstances would have been great for a record polar dive. The outside temperature was 14,7 degrees and the water relatively warm.
Although there was no official New Year's dive organized, the Rescue Squad was present. Due to the lazy atmosphere, they themselves had some fun with the “Nieuwjaarsduik in blik 2022” van Unox.

Het was er dit keer mistig en erg koud (gevoelstemperatuur -11 graden Celsius), vooral als gevolg van de wind.

This time it was foggy and very cold (wind chill -11 degrees Celsius), mainly because of the wind.
