Strokkur is a fountain-type geyser located in a geothermal area beside the Hvítá River in Iceland in the southwest part of the country, east of Reykjavík. It typically erupts every 6–10 minutes. Its usual height is 15–20 metres, although it can sometimes erupt up to 40 metres high.
Strokkur belongs to the Haukadalur valley area, where various other geothermal feature such as mud pools, fumaroles and other geysers are located around it, such as the famous Geysir geyser, which lies only 160 feet to the north.
Strokkur was first mentioned in 1789, after an earthquake helped to unblock the conduit of the geyser. Its activity fluctuated throughout the 19th century; in 1815 its height was estimated to have been as much as 60 metres (200 ft). It continued to erupt until the turn of the 20th century, when another earthquake blocked the conduit again. In 1963, upon the advice of the Geysir Committee, locals cleaned out the blocked conduit through the bottom of the basin, and the geyser has been regularly erupting ever since.
I've been spending a lot of time in this area keeping the gutters clear of leaves and debris and unblocking drains.
It's nice to look up occasionally to see the sun catching the beech, birch and lime (Lindens) leaves
The water level is high after all the rain we have had.

Come Talk to Me - Bon Iver, Peter Gabriel
Bon Iver Version

Live Version
www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRLjpXLEp1A
The wretched desert
takes its form,
the jackal proud and tight
In search of you
I feel my way,
through the slowest heaving night
Whatever fear invents,
I swear it make no sense
I reach out
through the border fence
Come down, come talk to me
In the swirling, curling storm of desire
unuttered words hold fast
With reptile tongue, the lightning lashes
towers built to last
Darkness creeps in like a thief
and offers no relief
Why are you shaking like a leaf?
Come on, come talk to me
Ah please talk to me
Won't you please talk to me
We can unlock this misery
Come on, come talk to me
I did not come to steal
This all is so unreal
Can't you show me how you feel now
Come on, come talk to me
Come talk to me, come talk to me
The earthly power
sucks shadowed milk
from sleepy tears undone
From nippled skin
as smooth as silk
the bugles blown as one
You lie there with your eyes half closed
like there's no-one there at all
There's a tension pulling on your face
Come on, come talk to me
Won't you please talk to me
If you'd just talk to me
Unblock this misery
If you'd only talk to me
Don't you ever change your mind
Now your future's so defined
And you act so deaf so blind
Come on, come talk to me
Come talk to me, come talk to me

A pair of Heritage 1 Dash-9's ease to a stop on the BNSF Brookfield Sub. in the siding at Maxwell with BNSF Train V ALTGAL1 05B as a Thomas Hill empty blocks them in on the main. They'll have to wait for the NS to take the empty onto their rails and unblock the east end of the siding before these guys can go east. That wound up not happening, and they were relieved right here.
The lead unit is unique in that it had its nose paint fixed a few years back with an improvised version of the scheme and the inclusion of the "swoosh" logo. I have to say, I don’t hate it.

-"Feng shui literally translates from Chinese as "wind" (feng) and water ("shui"). It's the art of arranging buildings, objects, space and life to achieve harmony and balance. Feng shui works on the assumption that the world is driven by unseen forces. The idea behind it is to "unblock" the way, so the forces may flow freely and create balance in a space (or life).
The main difference between the practices of feng shui and Western traditions is a belief that we as humans are connected to the spaces we inhabit. Believers in feng shui see sacred purposes and mystical meanings behind design -- not just artistically appealing buildings or superficially pretty surroundings. They view the world in terms of cosmic energy."

In yoga, there are seven chakras stones which are vortexes of energy that represent our seven levels of consciousness. By unblocking these seven chakras, we move from the lower self, or an unconscious state, to the higher self, or conscious state.
The first chakra - is the root chakra and lower chakra stone called the "Muladhara" (the root of Existence) which opens you to love and compassion. It is a red ruby gemstone which symbolizes protection and fortune.
Also shown and premiering at this SWANK Event are JUMO LATIFA EARRINGS and JUMO Beauty - EMMA Lips Lelutka EVOX (Both Earrings and Lips Sold Separately).

Completed in 1847, this was the first church in Montreal built for Catholic English-speakers (essentially all of whom were Irish).
Prior to this, they had attended mass - which was in Latin anyway - at French-speaking parishes. By the early 1840's however, their burgeoning numbers - which were soon to be swelled by the massive influx of emigrants resulting from Ireland's "Great Famine" of 1845-49 - provided the critical mass necessary to justify the construction of their own church.
The organ is a Warren, built with the church, but electrified and completely overhauled by Casavant Frères in 1895. At the same time, they split it in two and separated the halves to unblock the rose window behind it.
(A marvellous rendition of ''Hail Glorious St. Patrick, Dear Saint of Our Isle'' can be heard at the church's website - stpatricksmtl.ca/slideshow/slideshow.html)

Third picture of the series Wave Power.
(The following image is an example of what that might be changing a photograph as it influences the light and the technique used. For this shot had not yet left the sun, and long exposure time created that totally different to the previous photo)
Sunrise on the beautiful village of Villajoyosa -Alicante-.
That day was blowing east wind, the waves crashed against the shore, tranquility in place...
The sun is not out of the horizon yet, nothing left to see how the power of the sea struck again and again against the shore.
Spectacles of nature that gives us every day and that lack of time sometimes do not appreciate.
To achieve this photograph I used a four-step filter and black card technique blocking the light for some seconds, and unblocking creating these double vision clouds.
Image dedicated to my friend on Flickr Julián Solana (Tiogran), who met him in person that morning in his wonderful land.

experiments with very old Sigma 28-300 mount Canon EF attached to Sony A7 iii camera thorough an adapter Viltrox EF-NEX iV. Doesn't work AF so I used Manual focus. It seems that no Metabones nor MC-11 adapters AF works with this coupling of camera/lens. I ordered a Fotodiox Pro Fusion adapters that someone says could work. We will see. UPDATE : unfortunately using Fotodiox Pro Fusion my Sony A7 iii got blocked . To unblock I have to remove battery. I will continue to use adapter Viltrox EF-NEX iV with AF manual. If someone has any useful info about working adapter pls share. UPDATE : I bought a used adapter Metabones IV. AF works very vell in single shot (less in Continuous AF).

The central part of my village is situated next to the river. The gradient is very low which means that the flow rate of the waste water underneath the road is also pretty low. In addition to this, many of the old houses discharge their rain water into the sewer system. The predictable result from time to time is a blocked sewer pipe. Therefore, one is quite pleased to see the people unblocking the system. Leica M8, Elmar 4/135 at F11.
A pleasant hour exploring these woods supplied me with some reasonably decent shots - helped by the sunlight bringing the best out of the autumn colours.
This is part of the Narrator Plantation which borders the south eastern side of the Burrator Reservoir, Dartmoor - and is close to, and below Sheeps Tor.
Working hand held and without filters, most of the shots taken that day were challenging - exposure wise. This required a fair bit of processing time in Lightroom to unblock shadows and reduce highlights in some areas..... I'm quite happy with the results.
Nous allons célébrer les 2 mois d'adoption de Chouette par sa 4ème visite vétérinaire. Elle ne mange plus depuis dimanche soir. Je crois que je suis maudite, vraiment.
MISE A JOUR
A priori c'est ce que je soupçonnais, elle était constipée. Ca n'a pas été très marrant pour elle de la "débloquer", mais je pense que ça va aller maintenant.
We are going to celebrate Chouette's 2 months of adoption with her 4th vet visit. She hasn't eaten since Sunday night. I think I'm cursed, really.
UPDATE
At first glance that's what I suspected, she was constipated. It wasn't much fun for her to "unblock" it, but I think she'll be fine now.

This is the actual tower used on the badge of Everton Football Club. It is also known as Prince Rupert's Tower and is one of two surviving Georgian lock-ups that still survive in Liverpool; the other is in Wavertree. The Grade II-listed building, which was opened in 1787, was originally an overnight holding place where local drunks and criminals were taken by parish constables. Prisoners would then be brought before local Justices of the Peace for trial. Punishments would usually be similar to community service such as clearing ditches, unblocking drains or removing rubbish.
A depiction of the Everton Lock-Up has appeared on the crest of Everton F.C. since 1938. In May 1997 Everton gave £15,000 for renovating the structure and in February 2014 Everton Lock-Up was permanently illuminated blue.
Maybe you dont know it , but you can block users from commenting your work or from sending you flickr-mail or from doing anything on your work. No need from an admin, you can do it by yourself.
Why blocking people ?
Few example :
- people that use bad language or are harasing you or other people on your topics (so to protect your followers)
- people that add links to external site in their comments so that may be hacking site (fe sites to sale photos which are mostly credit card hacking sites)
- people that post porn photos in there comments (excepted if you like that)
- people that use your work to make advertising
...
How to do that :
1. go in the ABOUT of the user to block and click on BLOCK USER
2. if you want to remove the ban, go in people you follow and then edit your block list
ps : dont block someone to joke because once he is blocked, a robot will detroy all their comments on your work.
ps : I just checked, there are 9 users in my flickr block list
Thank you to everyone who commented with ideas on how to get out of a retrogressive groove. It all helped! Here's a blend of three images using the Enlight app in the iPhone5s.

Haukadalur, from Old Norse: Haukadalr ("hawk dale"), is a valley with significant geothermal activity in Iceland, home to the most famous of Icelandic geysers – Geysir itself.
The shallow valley is at about 100 m above sea level about 110 km (70 mi) to the north-west of Reykjavík. Haukadalur is part of the Golden Circle tourist route, so it does get busy, but it is a great spot for some atmospheric photos, even when the Icelandic weather is as gloomy as it often is.

I had worked this train from Maryborough when it had become disabled earlier in the morning, it had slipped to a stand on the steep climb up to Lone Pine (between Amphitheatre and Wiltshire Loop).
Icy rails, eucalyptus leaves and lack of working sanders were the downfall...
G540 & BL30 were dispatched from 7901V waiting in the loop to assist.
Fitters were on site to unblock the sanders before it continued on.

A new development in as much as my son Ivan helped Jonathan yesterday to remove the remaining carpet and laminate flooring so in theory it should start to dry out. Architraves and skirting boards have gone soggy beyond repair and the insurance has agreed to pay for much of the damage but excluding the wet room where the water has come from. Sometime during the eight years it has been let and all in the hands of a letting agent someone removed the shower curtains and being (as it was largely flat to allow access to Jon’s wife who used a wheelchair) water had been reaching the door trim and seeping down.
The wet room floor using a damp meter is still dry. The last person to rent also required a plumber booked by the letting agent and paid for by Jonathan - to unblock the shower drain which simply lifts out yet required a power blast down it so it must have absolutely flooded too at that point….j😕

I've been in the UK for 5 weeks now and in North Yorkshire for 3 weeks. The landscape is breathtaking, powerful, raw, intense - every corner is a new and astounding view. The way the light dances across the dales is extraordinary. The winds howl and scream up and down the dales and tear across the moors ripping into your skin like thorns. This landscape is harsh - I've learned I can't fight it, I have to adapt to it, work with it, accept it. The metaphor for life. I was railing against everything when I arrived - the cold of the house, limited central heating, an aggressive dog, another high pitched yappy dog, a very bad chest cold and laryngitis, working to unblock a culvert at dusk in torrential rains and screaming winds, cold to the bone, missing my golden retriever Lauer and knowing how much she'd have loved it here - running, leaping and jumping across the moss and the heather, the sandstone rocks. Grief grabbed hold of me tightly and tore me apart and I finally had to lay down my sword and stop fighting all of this new world, this culture shock, for even though I'm Canadian and I speak English, the culture is different and I'm far from home. I realized that I needed to accept that which I cannot change. The dogs will be fine if I leave them for more than 3 hours. I need to care for myself and drive the countryside and visit the places I want to visit. And I'm driving a manual shift on the other side of the road. I've accomplished so many things in these past few weeks - what does the next 4 months hold? How will I continue to grow and find my path?
After heatwaves and drought, the rain arrived with a vengeance.
Along with the rain came dark skies, thunder, lightning and "power outages".
It did mean I had to do an emergency drain unblocking to ensure my garage didn't flood. Due to the heatwave a lot of trees have started shedding their leaves early this year.
Thunder struck AC/DC
Strokkur is a fountain-type geyser located in a geothermal area beside the Hvítá River in Iceland in the southwest part of the country, east of Reykjavík. It typically erupts every 6–10 minutes. Its usual height is 15–20 metres (49–66 ft), although it can sometimes erupt up to 40 metres (130 ft) high.
Strokkur belongs to the Haukadalur valley area, where various other geothermal feature such as mud pools, fumaroles and other geysers are located around it, such as the famous Geysir geyser, which lies only 50 metres (160 ft) to the north.
Strokkur was first mentioned in 1789, after an earthquake helped to unblock the conduit of the geyser. Its activity fluctuated throughout the 19th century; in 1815 its height was estimated to have been as much as 60 metres (200 ft). In 1963, upon the advice of the Geysir Committee, locals cleaned out the blocked conduit through the bottom of the basin, and the geyser has been regularly erupting ever since.

Some stories behind the scenes:
This was the last day of my 5-day road trip from LA to Arizona, and I knew the weather would be bad as the weather forecast showed there would be a high chance for heavy rains. Honestly, I had many reasons to relax that morning under such a bad weather, but since I didn't really feel burned out during the road-trip, I chose to go out early as usual. I drove from my Airbnb to the east part of Saguaro National Park and parked at the trailhead of Tanque Verde Ridge Trail as I had already planned before. I chose this trail for a reason because typically Saguaro National Park is not good for sunrise -- the ridges around will block the morning light. However, after some research I found that this trail offers an opportunity to hike up to the ridge and that might be good enough to catch the lights.
The plan was good, but weather was not. As I parked at the trail head, sky was overcast, surroundings was pitch-black. I knew the cactus field on the trail would be hard to navigate and avoid touching in such a dark environment, so I chose to stay in the car and took a nap. I wake up 30 minutes later, and day started to light up. I did the hike as planned, and half way up I saw an area with some unblocking view of the distant mountains, and I could see storms rolling in on the far distance. I stopped there, waited quite some time and there was a moment the sun light just peaks through the cloud and cast a slice of light on the ground. Oh god, I captured that moment!
