Van 10 augustus tot en met 13 augustus bezocht ik de regio Marktredwitz met als doel wat DBC Ludmilla's te fotograferen. Nadat ik op 11 augustus al de eerste 232 kon klikken had ik de volgende dag wederom gepland om twee treinen af te wachten. De eerste betrof de meerdere keren per week rijdende EZ 45360. Gepland rijdt de trein zeer vroeg en dit leek deze dinsdag weer het geval te zijn, het bleek namelijk dat hij om 6:18 gepland stond om te vertrekken uit Marktredwitz. Compleet kansloos dacht ik, ware het niet dat een tijdje later de trein nog niet vertrokken bleek te zijn en hij een nieuw pad had gekregen. Hierdoor zou hij pas om 8:59 in Vorra passeren wat al een stuk beter klonk! Ik zorgde ervoor dat ik me snel naar de beoogde stek nabij Hohenstadt begaf en vervolgens kon het wachten in de schaduw beginnen. Het was goed opletten geblazen, want de dienstregelingen van de DBC treinen zijn hier zo ontzettend ruim ingelegd dat de trein met gemak eerder kon passeren. Precies dit gebeurde uiteraard ook. Terwijl ik een compositie aan het uitproberen was sloot ineens de overweg en hoorde ik in de verte een luide diesel brommen. Dit kon maar een trein zijn!
Het is 8:51 als de 233 176 met een aantal gasketelwagens, twee rongenwagens en ketelwagens de fotograaf aan de Eschenbacher Weg passeert als EZ 45360 vanuit Cheb naar Nürnberg Rangierbahnhof. Inmiddels is alles in deze regio overhoop gegooid. Door een spoorbrug welke met spoed moet worden gerenoveerd ligt de spoorlijn tussen Hersbruck en Pegnitz buiten dienst tot minstens 1 juli 2026. Hierdoor worden alle DBC treinen via Weiden omgeleid.

In this series, The Untaken, I explore many aspects of childhood’s memory that are buried deep within the subconsciousness. Each of the photograph portrays one specific event, some significant and some seems to be trivial but used to be very important in the past when one was young. Some of the photos are very personal and some meant to be universal. I also purposefully took out human figure and leave only objects or things that are associated with human normal daily life in the pictures. The photos however do not merely just portray events from the past but they also reflect the emotional changes and the meanings that always evolve through time as one grows and the complexity of a child’s mind in trying to make sense or to cope with all the strange things happens in his or her surrounding world that he or she just does not know how to explain yet. These are the untaken photographs of memory, of confusion and sorrow that are buried deep down behind all the artificial smiles in the family photo album.

Cincinnati, Ohio
The Armory Fieldhouse was built in 1954 and originally was used as the home for the University of Cincinnati Bearcats men's basketball team, who opened the building with a 97–65 win over Indiana on December 18, 1954.
It was the home of the team for their two NCAA titles in 1961 and 1962, as well as the site where UC great Oscar Robertson broke the NCAA career scoring record on February 6, 1960, versus Houston. From December 6, 1957, the first home game of the season, to December 7, 1963, when they lost to Kansas, the team went undefeated in the building, a streak of 72 games. During that time, they won every home game played at the Cincinnati Gardens, for an overall streak of 90 straight home wins.
The team's final game at the arena was February 14, 1976, a 60–45 win over Saint Louis University.
