Another UAE Sunset - Around January, where the weather is mild in UAE in contrast to the Summer where it is around 135 degrees F, the January sunset with cool and moist air, provides sky colors that are beautiful and hard to describe except for photos capturing the moment.

When you are a few thousand kilometers away from home ... the only thing that makes you think about what you are leaving behind is the sun. One point of reference for everyone in this world. You wait for the light to go out on another day that has passed. And that with it, the thoughts you carry inside are extinguished.

Blast from the past, a photo taken in UAE while I was there. The Sunset across the desert sky is unreal.

This old dhow, now converted to diesel power, strikes a silhouette against the setting sun in the shallows of Abu Dhabi.
Tonight's sunset was a slow burn and simply spectacular. I managed to shoot 88 RAW images from the balcony to make this giant panoramic.

I will not tire of the view from my apartment building, particularly in winter when the clouds add to the drama of such wonderful sunsets.
A perspective of the Khalidiya precinct including (ADNOC Tower on the right) and Etihad Towers (centre) within a short walk from home. It is a skyline that is set to change over the coming months and years as more construction takes place.
Digging through the archive: One afternoon I went to the seaside in Jumeirah (جُمَيْرَا), Dubai, a day or two before it was time to fly back home.

After the sand storm receded, I found this rock to have made it through the storm and floating peacefully towards the horizon.

It has been a while - Busy with work and not much traveling in the heat of the desert sun. But on a long weekend, I decided to go a bit and do some photoshooting. I would have preferred to take this photo with a drone since it would have given me a wider and longer view of the desert. Still the sunset and the temperature was right for a photo capture. The sun in the distance covering the sea of sand is a unique sunset and one that is first for me... Unlike the sunset over a sea, the sand gives natural gold color against a gold sunset background adding to nature beauty and how every day nature paints us a different picture to marvel and admire.
