Twenty-One: My favorite number since youth. So I will stand here at this place on 21. in summer 2020. Somehow interesting that it will be my first day next year on the island. Fate? Luck? Intuition?
Whatever...

This came together well for me. Two Fiat cars and an Italian cycle (on the right) a Bianchi in it's famous shade of Celeste - a pale sky blue - captured on the road speed marking.

Yesterday's weather was brutal. Twenty-five mile an hour winds with the wind chill .... too darn cold! I've been feeling down without my camera in hand so I dragged Kipp out into the weather to see the sparrows. They seemed happy to sit in the sun yet many were in their cozy Lobster Traps.
This one was so happy to show off his best side:) I may spend the rest of the year photographing these darlings...
Deventer op Stelten 2017 - English
For more than twenty years the historic town of Deventer in the Netherlands has celebrated culture and arts on the streets. While ‘Op Stelten’ (‘on stilts’) is now used largely as a figurative sense, the performers are truly of the highest level and come from all over Europe. During the weekend of 7 till 9 July the centre of Deventer turns into a giant open air theatre stage and attracts thousands of enthusiastic visitors.
This year, the 21st edition of the festival takes place from Friday evening the 7th until Sunday afternoon the 9th of July. The programme includes more than 150 top performances by theatre groups from all over Europe and the Netherlands. The entrance is free, with exception of a few ticketed performances.
In the last years ‘Deventer Op Stelten’ has developed strongly content-wise into a internationally acknowledged festival in professional open air theatre. As a result of its specific form and artistic quality, ‘Deventer Op Stelten’ has grown out to a leading festival for international open air theatre, and was declared the winner of Best Public Event of The Netherlands in 2014. Each year, the festival is visited by more than 120.000 visitors and is seen as an extraordinary, festive and world class cultural festival.

Straight Out Of the Camera

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” - H. Jackson Brown Jr., P.S. I Love You
Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! xo❤️

"Twenty is plenty" was a public campaign to bring the permissible speed in the centre of the village down from 30 to 20mph. It took some time until it really happened. Fuji X-E2.

Brazos Bend State Park is as famous for its alligators as its fabulous birds. In a 3-hour walk around 40-acre and Elm lakes, my family sighted 24 alligators. This was neither the largest nor the closest to the trail. Needville, Texas.
The former Illinois Central Gulf 2030 makes a trip down to the dock at Port Inland with a train of side-dumpers loaded with limestone. There may only be one public crossing on this mysterious little railroad, but they sure are neat to watch.

I've always thought the US Currency needed some colour, so I gave Mr. Jackson some. I painted this in Photoshop Elements 2022. Thanks to You All For The Wonderful Comments and Encouragement!
It took a public campaign to convince the authorities that the introduction of a speed limit on High Street was a necessity. Most drivers respect the new regulation, some don't. There is no police station in our village. "Common sense" is probably the method preferred to deal with problems here. It works most of the time. Leica M Mono, Voigtlander AS 2.2/50.

October, 2014:
CSX Q642 ties down at 27.49 on the Elsdon Sub after splitting the train over Thornton Road. Leading the way is one of thirteen SD80MACs inherited by CSX from the Conrail split. Unlike NS, CSX wasn't quick to remove the marker lights.
Not even a few months later, CSX traded their remaining SD80MACs to NS. And we all know how that story ended.
