I know there is a shortage of insects, which is very worrying, but this only hit home to me after I returned from a 830 mile journey, and there was hardly an insect on the windscreen or bumper...Years ago had to stop after twenty miles to clean them off...I'll let you draw your own conclusions as to why this is happening.

"Twenty is plenty" was a public campaign to bring the permissible speed in the centre of the village down from 30 to 20mph. It took some time until it really happened. Fuji X-E2.
As August is coming to an end, so is our winter.
I am looking forward to this Spring and Summer time.
Brazos Bend State Park is as famous for its alligators as its fabulous birds. In a 3-hour walk around 40-acre and Elm lakes, my family sighted 24 alligators. This was neither the largest nor the closest to the trail. Needville, Texas.
The walk was hugely long, we got covered in midges and plastered in peat. But it was a gorgeous old school hike along sheep paths with no Bank Holiday rain and nary a soul in sight all day.

Viano is sitting at around 1200 meters height just above Brusio. It is famous for being the former smugglers village. Smugglers transported coffee and cigarettes to Italy up to the seventies in large quantities.
Large means up to twenty tons of coffee a day. This happened on both sides of the valley, but Viano being the more known village.
All the business broke down in the seventies due to Lira dropping severely in value.
