The BMW Welt (English BMW World) is the combined exhibition, event and delivery center of BMW.
Located in the Milbertshofen-Am Hart district next to the BMW Vierzylinder (corporate HQ), it was built from 2003 to 2007.

(Unfortunately I have no idea what has happened when I posted this picture on flickr, there appeared much noise, especially in the sky. It looks completely different on my screen / lightroom. This used to be the Jumeirah Hotel Frankfurt until this April. It was the first Jumeirah on the European continent. Obviously, not as successful as it needed to be.
In the back of this image the IG Farben Haus, the Deutsche Bundesbank and the Ginnheimer Spargel (TV tower) all line up in front of the slopes of the Taunus.

Der Historische Hafen Berlin ist ein 1990 gegründeter Verein, der sich den Erhalt und den Betrieb von historischen Binnenschiffen zum Ziel gesetzt hat. Die Schiffe liegen in Berlin im beginnenden Spreekanal zwischen der Fischerinsel und dem Märkischen Ufer gegenüber der Mühlendammschleuse.

One landmark of Berlin -
with 368 ms the highest building in Germany and the 4th place TV-tower in Europe.
It was finished in the GDR 1969 and became a centre of shopping malls and hotels.
(My son married here some years ago in the bullet).

Fertiggestellt zu DDR-Zeiten 1969, wurde er Zentrum von Hotels und Einkaufsmeilen.

Der Berliner Fernsehturm erstrahlt beim Festival of Lights in wunderschönen, teils satten Farben.
Die sandgoldenen Fassaden des Forums lassen sich davon. nicht beeindrucken... ;-)
The Berlin city center is not the best place for a relaxed night walk. At least in my opinion. To much people, to much traffic. The museums island is something completely different. I can recommend you to try it.
Die Innenstadt von Berlin ist für einen gemütlichen Nachtspaziergang nicht sehr gut geeignet. Zumindest ist das meine Meinung. Zu viele Menschen zu viele Autos. Die Museumsinsel ist da schon etwas anderes. Kann ich nur empfehlen.

Der Berliner Fernsehturm ist mit 368 Metern das höchste Bauwerk Deutschlands sowie der vierthöchste Fernsehturm Europas.
Er war im Jahr der Fertigstellung 1969 der zweithöchste Fernsehturm der Welt und zählt mit über einer Million Besuchern jährlich zu den zehn beliebtesten Sehenswürdigkeiten in Deutschland.
Dieter und Günter Franke gelten als die maßgebliche Architekten des Berliner Fernsehturms, dessen Urheberschaft bis heute umstritten ist, da der Architekt Hermann Henselmann ebenfalls Anspruch auf den Architekturentwurf erhob. Fest steht aber, dass die eigentliche Bauplanung im VEB Industrieprojektierung stattfand. Die drei maßgeblichen Architekten waren hier Dieter, Günter Franke und Werner Ahrend.

Liest man den ganzen (ziemlich langen) Artikel, wird schnell klar, dass es auch zu DDR-Zeiten Mauscheleien und Filz gab ;-)
Für mich bedeutet dieser Turm eine schöne Familienerinnerung aus meiner Kindheit .
In der Kugel befindet sich ein Restaurant, dass sich im Verlauf einer Stunde einmal im Kreis dreht.
Es muss Mitte der 70er Jahre gewesen sein, wir besuchten die Hauptstadt als Familie und besichtigten auch den Fernsehturm.
Ein Platz im rotierenden Restaurant beinhaltete die Pflicht, etwas zu essen oder zu trinken zu bestellen.
Mein Vater orderte kurzerhand eine große Flasche Mineralwasser und 5 Gläser und so konnten wir den 60-minütigen Rundblick von oben genießen...
