Psychologists often use the technical term framing: The framing effect is a cognitive bias in which people decide between options based on whether the options are presented with positive or negative connotations.
In this photo winter is shown differently than usual, namely in a frame. Is it now also about framing?

This was one of the containers used on this tv operation - covering the Alive music festival for 3 days. Here we made a small studio with lights and cameras where the presenters could talk about the bands and the shows and launch thed concerts live broadcast. I had a team exceeding 70 people between reporters, presenters, production and technical staff. We were operating almost non-stop from 1 pm to 2 am... and broadcasting live some 6 hours depending on day, sometimes more. But I had a fantastic crew! I'll show you some of them in next days. There's no words to thank their efforts and they deserved every drop of the champagne we took at 2 am in the last day and much more...

Excitement this week shooting a "CES Preview" show in Times Square (that's it, behind the window, I had kid-delight about that) studios with tech editors Jeff O'Haire, Grant Glauser and Steve Nelson. I made outrageous predictions about cell phones and cameras...
I took a walk the other day along Broadway between 42nd Street and 60th Street and happened to pass the building where they tape the Late Show with David Letterman. It's some deal to watch the street outside the building before a tapping of the program. A large crowd gathers and guards are posted while a big jolly fellow tells jokes and works them up getting them ready for the program. He tells them how important it is to laugh at the jokes, to clap and have a jolly good and make a lot of noise while watching the show. This looked like a show before the show!!

My "On me bike" title is referring to the countdown to things changing on Flckr, the countdown to having all images destroyed and being held to ransom!
I have made some Amazing and talented Virtual friends here, and have enjoyed my time here very much.
I don't want to go into a huge political debate, but i do feel we have all been held to ransom of sorts, with the new changes, and although i have had a blast, and value all my friends here, i have come to the decision that i don't spend enough time, or work at it enough to go PRO, it's more principle than the money.
I will miss you all very much, and would like to say a huge thank you to all of you have supported me over the last few years here and i will be sad to go, but will probably be able to put more work into my instagram feed. I have a personal page in instagram but am soon to open another just for my arty shots and keep the existing one personal.
I will do a flurry of posts before i go, and the rest i already had backed up, so when they wipe me, I'll still have my images.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your support, and have a great time all you pro's, most of you were already pro anyhow so won't be affected.

R.I.P., Keith Noel Emerson !
* 2. Nov. 1944 in Todmorden, West Yorkshire, England;
† 10. Mar. 2016 in Santa Monica, Kalifornien, USA
A Lucky Man by Emerson, Lake & Palmer (1970)
(with an unlucky end) he was !
He was the first musician to bring the Moog Sythesizer on stage.
"The so-called "Monster Moog," built from numerous modules, weighed 550 pounds (250 kg), stood 10 feet (3 m) feet tall and took four roadies to move. Even with its unpredictability, it became an indispensable component of not only ELP's concerts, but also Emerson's own." (Wikipedia)

I mentioned in an earlier post that I knew County Hall, and the Greater London Council (GLC), very well in the 1970s. That was because I was local government researcher and correspondent for Thames Television – in those days, the national ITV station that also served the London area.
Thames took its local government reporting very seriously (and received plaudits for it). And so we come to this TV studio photograph – the set of our open-ended results programme not of a general election, but of the local election across the 32 London boroughs that comprised the GLC.
We've just completed a run-through and it's shortly before we go on air on 9th April 1970. That’s me on the left in shirtsleeves talking to Roy Fewins, the floor manager. Seated to the right at the election results desk is the legendary Alastair Burnet with Peter Tiffin, the studio director (standing). Then Peter Taylor, who’s discussing possible election outcomes with a psephologist whose name I can’t now remember.
And just look at the cutting edge technology… that election ‘swingometer’ next to Alastair!
By today’s television standards, the set design was very simple: 'GLC 70', underneath which are 32 squares, each one representing a London borough.
Boy, did we all work our socks off – and the programme delivered the results. We came off air at around 2am, adrenalin flowing like mad, knowing we’d done a good job for London.
