I put mesh tulle over my half barrels in the garden so the squirrels couldn't hide their nuts in my potted plants... this is the first year and it worked great!
Old Tully Church appears to have been built in the late 12th century however there have been archaeological surveys that suggest a wooden or clay and wattle church may have predated the current stone structure. Some of the grave slabs in the church predate the 12th century, also the two high crosses which stand nearby were erected before the church.
The ruins that remain are quite beautiful and ornate, with a wide Romanesque arch opening into the chancel, the nave itself appears to have disappeared over the centuries. The church was in use up until 1615 but fell into a state of disrepair in the years following due to storm damage, and was in a ruinous state by 1630. The graveyard surrounding the ruin is home to headstones dating up to the late 19th century.

A quintet of the Susquehanna's sharply painted SDs glides through Tully with about 100 cars, led by SD33ECO 3012. A timely heads up from BP the night before that the 3012 would be leading led to my friend Derek and I driving down from Maine to chase BH-0 from Binghamton to Syracuse, then chase the return trip south again.
Layers of colorful tulle mesh in a skirt - as a ballet dancer and teacher for many many years, I have a lot of different tulle laying around the house!
Glorious golden light greets the Cortland-Syracuse turn on its return trip south with four EMDs for power as it enters the town of Tully, New York. Thanks again to BDP for letting me tag along.

I took this picture in the TULLY MOUNTAINS in the Connemara National park County Galway, Ireland.
The 356-metre (1,168 ft) high hill is visually striking, as it stands in a prominent position on the Renvyle Peninsula between Ballinakill harbour (South), Inishbofin (West) and the Crump Island (north). The summit hosts a small cairn and offers a panoramic view of the Twelve Bens, the Mayo coastline, Inishboffin and other islands.
( Note : For this shot I used my 100-400mm zoom lens, ok I know usually for Landscapes or Panoramic Photography we use wide angle focal lens, myself most of the time I shot my 24-70mm or 24-105mm but sometimes like for this photo I use my 400mm zoom and often the result show impressive and amazing Images . Canon EOS 7D and Canon EF100-400mm F4.5-5.6L IS USM. )

Macro Mondays: Translucent
This is the beautiful hat that my sister wore years ago at her best friend's wedding. My sister's outfit was so beautiful that when we got the photos developped (yes, it was *that* long ago), the photographer gasped and asked me "your sister got married?"
Anyway, first I was thinking of the volutes of tulle for today's theme, but the satin roses also had shiny, translucent petals.
The rose is quite small, about 4 cm.
Painted this down in Seattle at Tully's with Servo, Limit, Pest, Mosef and Bieber. Thanks for the hospitality!

There a several photos of this pioneer house in these pages, including another one of these steps. In this one, I wanted to find a composition that shows how they were made. Taken with a Leica M 2 with 35mm f/w Summicron.
This might be my favorite spot on the Syracuse Main. Southbound 45's a 40-2 and a 70m-2 crank on by at Tully, NY on the New York, Susquehanna and Western's Northern Division.
Susquehanna SD33-ECO 3012 leads a manifest northward past the former Lackawanna depot at Tully, New York.
Tulle material is often used for veils, gowns and ballet tutus. This one is a lightweight, very fine netting fabric.. a wedding veil actually. For size perspective I measured ... half an inch covers about 9 of those little squares.

NYSW CL-2 turns the corner into Tully, New York behind the railroad's sole active tunnel motor leading a pair of SD70M-2s. The depot on the left was built by the Lackawanna in 1905. Notice the DL&W mile marker on the right.
Susquehanna's BH-2 crew is on the move once again after having traction motor issues with the 3804. Here they are rounding the corner at Tully, NY getting back up to track speed with a heavy train in tow.
