Formation of computerised DTC Bus Pass Counter in JNU. .

Regularisation of Route no. 666 for the students of SPS and Language Lab, SLL&CS. .

3. Speedy construction of new Bus Stops in JNU. JNUSU has also compelled the JNU Administration to convert the JNU bus into CNG and run it within campus for the JNU community on a regular basis. University Level Placement Cell: This year, the JNUSU demanded the revival of the University Level Placement Cell in order to address the financial problems as well as the problems faced in finding employment by students of JNU. The University Level Placement Cell has been revived by the university in the Old Campus of JNU. .

SLL & CS SPECIFIC ISSUES .

Computer and Internet Facility: As a result of the consistent efforts by ufe(councilors 'of SL CS, 11 computers with internet .

facility have been installed for the students of BNMNM.Phii/Ph.d in Room No.-234. The ounci ors have also compelled the .

computer room in-charge to allow the e-mail facility for academic purposes. The use of floppy for downloading the study material .

has also been made permissible. The students can now get the slot booked on the spot in case they are vacant. Moreover the .

administration has agreed to provide fifty (50) more computers for the language labs. Acommittee has been constituted for the .

improvement of language labs. .

Scholarships and Financial Assistance: This year a record number of MCM scholarships (166) and financial assistance (38) .

have been awarded to the students of SLL&CS. .

Seat Cut/ Faculty Recruitment: The delay by the HRD-Ministry in appointing a visitor's nominee in JNU has put a hold on all .

appointments of new faculties in JNU. The situation of centres like CIL and CCSEAS have become acute where even the retired .

faculty cannot be replaced by the new ones. On JNUSU's insistence, a resolution was passed in the Academic Council (AC) .

urging upon the President of India to appoint a Visitor's nominee for JNU. The councilors also resisted the Centre for Indian .

Languages(Urdu) from reducing the number of seats offered for Mfhil. .

Scrapping the proposal for age limit: Driving the Board of Studies meeting the councilors prevented the administration from .

arbitrarily imposing an age limit for students taking admission in BA 1st year. .

Computer Orientation Programme: To educate the students on the use of internet facility, handling e-mails, and M~Word , a .

computer orientation programme was arranged by the councilors in September 2002 with the help of faculty from SC& ss. .
