altra fregatura.

It is a Soviet camera produced from 1978 to 1985 by the factories KMZ (Krasnogorski Mekhanicheskii Zavod near Moscow). The main innovation compared to the Zenit E model is the measurement of light through the lens (TTL). The camera has a screw mount type M42 which allows the use of a wide variety of lenses of different brands. It is equipped here with the famous Helios-44M 2/58 lens created on the basis of the Biotar 58mm f/2 by Carl Zeiss and produces a swirling bokeh.
The camera has a cloth curtains shutter with shutter speeds of 1/30 to 1/500 and B. The production quality at that time was not there and mine has lost its timer button and the battery housing no longer closes.

When I was a young chap, I thought about a Zenit camera, but thought they were a bit clunky, and the cheap ones (i.e. the ones I could afford) needed an external light meter. And so I eventually bought a Ricoh KR-5, when I could afford it. About forty years ater I first encountered a Zenit, I bought one. Clunky seemed interesting after all. I've been going about (a little bit) with a relic of the Cold War. There's something rattling about inside that sounds like a small screw, but to no ill effect so far.
