In a world that once whispered of love, something has shifted quietly at first, then all at once.
Love used to feel like a shelter. A place where two souls could rest without fear, without masks, without calculation. Companionship meant presence, loyalty, the unspoken promise that I am here, and I won’t disappear when it gets hard. But now it feels like something else entirely.
Now it’s a game.
People move through each other like players in some endless arcade, testing, taking, discarding. Hearts are no longer held, they’re handled, measured, used. There’s no patience anymore, no depth, just quick rounds of attraction, illusion, and exit. Insert emotion, press start, play until boredom, then reset.
Trust has become fragile, almost naïve. To trust someone today feels like stepping into a trap you can already see but still hoping it won’t close on you this time. And yet it does, again and again. Because somewhere along the way, sincerity stopped being valued, and manipulation became a skill.
Love is no longer something people build, it’s something they consume.
And companionship fades the moment it demands effort, the moment it stops being convenient. People don’t stay anymore, they hover, they sample, they vanish. They promise forever with the same ease they disappear the next day.
What remains is betrayal, dressed in charm. Exploitation, hidden behind soft words. A constant quiet feeling that you’re not connecting with someone, you’re being played by them.
Like your soul is just another level for someone to pass through.
And maybe the most painful part isn’t the betrayal itself
It’s realizing that people know exactly what they’re doing.
They just don’t care anymore.
