A glorious bone chilling morning at Triund peak

Wake up and smell the coffee, and then drink it, before it gets cold.

Stairs that form the start of the path from Bhagsu Nag waterfall to Triund. Shot while sitting at Peace Cafe drinking my chai masala.

On the trekking trail to Triund nestled in Dhauladhar mountains of Himalayas, this one stood majestically alone....at about 9000 feet.

Freezing cold Triund peak

Triund is a ridge that overlooks the Dhauladhars. The ridge elevation is between 2,810 and 2,875 metres. It is a one-day trek 10 kilometres (one way) from McLeod Ganj bus stand and under 6 kilometres (one way) from Galu temple near Dharamkot. The trail is rocky and cut in steps at some places. From Galu temple the trail starts as a gentle ascend till Magic View café. After the café, the ascent is a tad steeper, finally cumulating in a steep final one kilometre stretch through a forest of Deodars and Rhododendron. This final stretch through the woods is known as 22-curves, because of the 22 switchbacks that one has to walk through to get to Triund. .................................Wikipedia

Beyond Triund, i.e. 14.10.2014, we encountered dense clouds & overcast sky. May be it was because of 'Hudhud', the cyclone. It deprived us off the magnificent Himalayan views.

This was my 2nd Milkyway panorama. Before that I have taken many daytime and still architectures panorama's. But after shooting milkyway panorama in Triund, Pangong Lake and Chitkul I noticed it's actually more different and difficult to create panormaic view in night and that too with moving stars and milkyway. You need to concentrate on so many more other things while shooting like movement speed, white balance and horizontal/vertical angle in all shots.

For second try and shoot in 2014 I think it can acceptable. I'm still learning to craete some fine Panorama of milkyway, Hopefully 1 day with more and more experiment and try I can create good view which can satisfy me..:)
