Trichrome is the process of using black and white film, one image taken with a red filter, green filter and blue filter. Then some processing needed.
Trichromatic photography is the process of taking three identical black and white photos (film), each taken with a different color filter (red, green, and blue), and then combining the three photos to create a color image. This is how it was done before color film arrived.

Why? Just because :)
Correct colour for the plant (which is called Little Ruby) but the background and leaves in shadow don't look right. More experimentation is in order.

This local church is very handy test subject. It very picturesque and we get good Trichrome skies quite often. Great for experimenting with cameras, film, filters and exposure lengths

my first trichrome picture. taking the photos is easy, the working with the computer not...
After reading an article about trichromatic photography I realized that I had to try it. It's a technique of creating a color image from three black and white shots using green, red, and blue filters separately, then overlaying each in photoshop assigning each to the appropriate color channel.
Even though this subject wasn't the best choice since the water is always in motion I went for it using my long neglected Mamiya RZ67 and Fomapan 100.

Panoramic Trichrome (Colour image from Black and White film) of the Orwell Bridge using an RSS 6x17 pinhole camera and Ilford FP4 Plus
The clouds were pretty flat and grey after a passing rain burst. With 3 minute individual exposures and the sun breaking through at time on the far right we managed to get some bubble gum trichrome colours in there.
For scale the Orwell Bridge is 1KM in length and we managed to squeeze it all in 😁
