To an untrained eye this might appear to be a tree swing. But those of us in the know recognize this as the cockpit of a race car or a jet fighter. Or perhaps it's the cab of a semi tractor-trailer, or the engineer's seat on a subway train, or the captain's seat on an oceanliner. Maybe it's the seat on a Harley-Davidson hog or a BMW road bike. The fact is, it is the dream seat. And if you never sat in that seat, you missed the thrill of a lifetime.

I have passed this scene many times driving between the Ravines Park and Grand River Park but never stopping for a photo. I finally decided early last month to stop along the roadside and get the shot.
Danni's Daddy put up a swing for her at our house. It is the same tree where we had a swing for her Mommy 35 years ago. It surely spurred my memory of earlier times - HSoS!

When i lose sight of the child in me I tend to go and find a swing. I spend a bit of time going back and forth, allowing the years to peel away and the memories of just being a kid to take over. The worries stop, the angst of paying bills or making money begin to fade as the feelings of absolute joy settle in. I swear that 10 minutes of being on a swing is worth 10 hours of therapy. When was the last time you got on a swing and celebrated the child within?

Standing outside the front door looking to the left of Lakeside Cottage, lies this beautiful woodland walk.
With a Lake at the bottom of the Cottage garden, horses at the front to share your breakfast, and a woodland/lake walk through the gate, I certainly started to realise that this was the perfect holiday break needed!!!
In the Trossachs woodlands of Scotland, a rustic swing made from ropes and a fallen log hangs from this majestic tree. I waited until the sun was low in the sky and caught the sunburst as it shone through a gap in the tree's branches, while also throwing shadows across the bluebells on the forest floor.
