Just a bunch of sheep grazing in the far distance under the winter sunshine and ominous sky. The bare trees dominate the riverbank and reflect onto the river stream. Not a duck in sight though! Just caught the light before it started to drop too low.

Waimate, New Zealand

I was weary and kept checking behind me as a bear had been spotted here before and realised why it came to this haven.

Springwood, Whalley, Lancashire

The fog. The world has retreated into non-being. The lines remain isolated. The colors no longer speak. Somewhere the Invisible Man is watching us in silence.

Best wishes to all of you, friends.

I miss your photos and editions.

I hope to have periods with more time ahead.

Sometimes it's hard to catch the wind

And bend it to your will

Even though it's hard to know

Just how the story ends

The road is long and it takes it's time

Hurst Green, Lancashire

.. found in the magic Odenwald .. happy weekend :)

Read, Lancashire

Taken at the top of Whiteleaf Cross, Buckinghamshire, on the start of a very misty day where the sun was struggling to make any impression in the murky light. Just adored the silhouettes of the trees against the soft blue sky.

Treescape on a freshly felled ash branch still decorated with silvery green antlers of oakmoss lichen (Evernia prunastri) touched with morning frost viewed through a macro lens. The exposed area of the tree trunk shows elaborate ‘carving artwork’ of the Ash Bark Beetle larva of Hylesinus species (hard to tell which one of the 3 native UK species was a culprit, possibly H. fraxini). Extensive thinning is taking place in the woodland to help the strongest and healthiest trees. Primrose Hill Community Woodland. Bath, BANES, England, UK.

Great Harwood, lancashire

Taken yesterday morning on a wonderful white winters morning in Barnes's Grove, Buckinghamshire. The sun was rising and just starting to kiss the sky with its golden tones. Another of those had to stop and soak in the atmosphere, and wait for a couple of muntjacs to stop charging around before I took the shot! No sunrays this time (there are still more to come from that shoot) but the winter coverage sure made up for it!

The legendary 'tree' at Binalong Bay, east coast of Tasmania. Part of the Bay of Fires, so named because of the amazing red rocks that are found there (and actually all over the east coast of Tasmania).

Although this is a black and white image with selective colouring, there isn't actually that much difference between this and the original colour version. The red really shines as a focal point.
