A silver brooch, made in Thailand, that belonged to my grandmother that I inherited from my aunt. I took the photo with the brooch lying on the shiny side of a compact disk. For the Macro Momdays theme; treasured. Width 1.75 in.

"Not all treasure is silver and gold, mate!"

One of my favorite movies, "Pirates of the Caribbean" (all of them). Sadly, I don't think there will be another one with Johnny Depp! The song below is amazing and I love listening to those wonderful cellists in the video. (Don't miss it!)

Shore treasure hunting conjures up glamour, excitement and riches ripe for the discovery. The reality, however, is often different: The small industry of real-life hunters live a dream that comes with its own share of heartache and disappointment

Yellow Zinnia!
Originally coming from Mexico, this is a very popular flower, with its wide range of colours and sizes. Many varieties differing in weight, shape, size and colour have been evolved. The leaves are oval and rough textured. There are single, semi-double or double flowers and the colours range from white, cream, yellow, orange over rose, purple scarlet, maroon, to lilac, lavender, magenta, mauve, salmon to violet.
If out of all mankind one finds a single friend, he has found something more precious than any treasure, since there is nothing in the world so valuable that it can be compared to a real friend. Andreas Capellanus
Have a lovely golden week ahead.
This is Paulina Falls in Oregon, part of the 54,822-acre Newberry Volcanic Monument area. It was a very chilly day when we explored this area. I took this shot from an overlook, but afterwards, we ventured down a steep and snow covered trail so I could shoot both waterfalls. I'll post that image at a later date.

When walking in our neighborhood, I always see lovely flower specimens that I'd love to collect for my macro photography exploration. My basic rule is that the flower must have fallen off the host plant (thus insuring my neighbors don't dislike my presence). This lovely flower had fallen to the ground under our neighbor's tree...thus is was officially mine! Inside the soft folds of the petals, I found this intricate center.

Macro Mondays 'treasured' theme.
Well worn and damaged but treasured nonetheless, this pewter ring was given to me by my Dad when I was about twelve, more than fifty years ago. He bought it on one of his many business trips to Scandinavia and I think he got it in Norway. I haven't worn it for many years and can't even get it on my little finger now but I wouldn't part with it.
