My favorite soda drink - hard to find, but comes in cobalt glass bottles. "Bawls" is a guarana drink with high, high, high caffeine - and it works great to wake you up. Largest view shows delicate glass waves in the lower portion.

Top grade chrysocolla gem silica, a new find of natural, more durable, stable, unique, good colored and highly translucent material on this planet ever seen.

This orchid is real, the bloom is about 3 inches in diameter and sits in front of a stained glass window in the bathroom. The sunlight was streaming through and caused the colors from the window to be reflected in the bloom's petals.

At Clay Camp this year, I took Kim Day's translucent Cane class. First time I ever made a bangle, and love how it turned out.

Well, his wings are separating, and I wish I'd chosen a different color bead for his eyes, but at least he's got 4 paws!

Because shipping by DHL was getting ridiculous, I ended up sitting on some stuff from Anime Export for many months, and this includes the exellent Figma 530 Sophia F. Shirring set.

I don't think she's part of an anime or anything like that, but does it really matter when she's one hell of a character design.

Now I know what you're thinking - she's got impossible curves, and that's pretty much why she's good, right? I'm not going to lie and say it doesn't help, but it truly isn't the main attraction.

Curves aside, the main selling point for me is the colour scheme. This white with translucent blue, black, and gold accents is one that I happen to really like, as it's also predominately what you'd find on KOS-MOS. If you look closely, there's actual some very fine detailing on pars of the figure, such as the ears and collar, as well as the actual accessories themselves.

From an accessories perspective (and theme), you're pretty much looking at if Milk-T Girl had a much larger budget.. and came with a surfboard/shield. She's also got four total face plates and a hair piece for when she's wearing her glasses. This gets the job done, but naturally it's not as flexible as with Snail Shell and its eye movement.

The various weapon pieces can be reassembled in various combinations to serve as a melee or projectile weapon. I just wish they had given her two pistol gripping hands (it's a special one, and only comes in Right) because even her melee weapons are basically gripped that way, though I suppose you could try to hold it along the saft.

All the promotional artwork suggests I can remove the bow on the small of her back, but I tried with no success. There's nothing in the manual, and I really would like not to have to buy another one.

Articulation is... alright. I mean, Figma are not exactly known for this sort of thing in order to maintain its curves. Due to the lack of bulk and perhaps a slightly different pelvic area design, it does seem that unlike other similarly designed Figma, she can actually sit flat though you're not doing the Can Can any time soon.

Clearly, if you're going to get the most out of the surf board, you're going to want to use the stand.

Paint is for the most part good, but as always, don't look too closely otherwise you'll drive yourself insane. But on the whole, she turned out quite stunning looking.

Build isn't bad, but some parts, like the hair piece with the glasses up, tends to fall off the face quite easily.

The cathedral church of St. Stephen in Vienna was spatially measured with more than 20 billion laser points. At this unique level of detail, they correspond to a data volume of almost 400 gigabytes and form the basis of the translucent St. Stephen’s Cathedral. This innovative approach offers spectators an interactive journey through the translucent sacred building in stereoscopic 8K.

Can you guess what it is?

Impressions from a beautiful walk in the sun

Translucent deep purple glass, with trail in opaque white, and a side tooled into twenty slender, vertical ribs.

Ribbed bowls like these, often decorated with opaque white trails, were very popular throughout the Roman world and may be seen as successors to the cast ribbed bowls of the 1st century BCE to the early 1st century CE. Known as rippenschale in Germany. A major center of production was probably located in Northern Italy or the province of Pannonia along the main route to the Danube frontier.

From a photo set I did in 2013 with an unreleased sample from FansToys.

This was a digital-to-physical project I fabricated and installed for architect Paul Preissner. A CNC router table was used to make a form generated in Rhinocad out of a material called HDU (high-density urethane).

I finished this form out as a mold and used it to make FRP parts, which I then tinted with a wash of varnish and artist oils. The effect was quite dreamy and appropriate for the business, a floation spa called Aguasol.

As a sculptor, it was an interesting project where I found the computer-generated form to be quite counterintuitive to a form one would create by hand.

Ghost flowers over pink blossoms on metallic purple with copper loop.

Still need to ID this one. Found in Arthur's Pass National Park, New Zealand.
