The transit of Venus across the sun. It was fairly cloudy but it cleared just enough for a few minutes to catch this amazing show.....since this won't happen again in my lifetime I was thrilled to capture it!

CSX Z241-12 is heading down the Toledo Terminal at Vickers after having come down from Flat Rock via the Ann Arbor and getting on CSX at Hallett on the north side of town. They're not far now from their destination of CSX's Walbridge Yard. Northwood, OH 4/12/2010

the airport is a place of passage, a liminal zone where lives intersect briefly, then scatter. here, under the sharp geometry of steel and glass, a lone traveler walks, dwarfed by the vast structure that frames her journey. the parallel lines of the moving walkway stretch into infinity, a quiet reminder of forward motion, of destinations yet to come. the muted sepia tones soften the harsh modernity, wrapping the scene in a blanket of nostalgia. it’s a moment caught between departures and arrivals, between now and soon—a fleeting whisper in the echoing halls of transit.
Dopo aver attraversato la galleria del Catajo sotto i Colli Euganei, l'ETR400 FRECCIAROSSA 1000 n°29 di Trenitalia con la livrea celebrativa per i "10 anni di Frecciarossa", transita immerso tra la vegetazione presso Battaglia Terme (PD) in servizio con il FR 9439 da Venezia Santa Lucia a Salerno.
After passing through the Catajo tunnel under the Euganean Hills, the ETR400 FRECCIAROSSA 1000 No.29 of Trenitalia with the celebratory livery for "10 years of Frecciarossa", it transit between the vegetation at Battaglia Terme (PD) in service with the FR 9439 from Venezia Santa Lucia to Salerno.
During the night of the 8th and 9th December Ganymede transited the planet Jupiter, currently residing in Taurus and very bright!
This image was captured during the early hours of the 9th with a red filter and shows the moon in the latter stages of the transit. Seeing was poor at the start of the event but improved enough to get this image.
Ganymede's inky black shadow is trailing the moon as Jupiter was just past opposition.
There is some nice detail on Ganymede itself which I was happy to get.
Imaged with my Celestron C11 and ZWO 290MM camera equipped with Baader RGB filters.

Having fun in Mass Transit, exposing for the highlights as the mass of commuters and travellers passed across a cross hatch of lights and shadows. I enjoyed how it picked out bits and pieces across the frame and the distribution of the highlights.

Rush hour is in full swing as Relay-4 brings 1171's equipment in on 16 Depot with F40PH-2CAT 4119, train 433 waiting for a signal off 17 Depot with Arrows, and GP40PH-2s 4109 and 4101 sitting on 18 Depot.
Chesapeake and Delaware RP-2 runs west along Lake Estling in Denville, NJ, on NJ Transit's Morris and Essex line after a trip to the Totowa Spur. NJT GP40-2 #4302 is one of four work units currently on lease to shortlines that operate over the railroad's territory due to a 2024 PTC deadline.
