Usually I find those very disturbing in my landscape photography because there are so many of them around here. Sometimes I simply decide to make them the subject....

I really like the hidden beauty of the form follows function approach in industrial settings.

In this experiment, which some might call a spiritual exercise, the attempt is made at transferring bioenergy from an onion via an accumulator and, then, an accelerator, to a person. Evidence of transfer must not be 'anecdotal' but repeatable and statistically corroborated. This is the reason why I should be careful when talking about 'evidence'. There is a second caveat of a more ethical nature. In this experiment, the direction of energy transfer is from onion to man. This is purely for scientific reasons. The aim of the whole exercise, once formally established, is to transfer life energy from one person to another (transfer of merit, spiritually speaking). Exercises of this kind have been done before. The two ones I would like to mention specifically, are Joseph Beuys' action "Manresa" and Wilhelm Reich's "Orgone Accumulator".

Montana Rail Link’s Billings Transfer departs Laurel Yard on the clear morning of October 8, 2023. The train is powered by MRL EMD SD40-2XR Nos. 263 and 259 and has a substantial number of cars for the railroad’s Billings Yard.

A play on the Twin Cities' "Rocky Soo Transfer," I shot IC&E’s train B73, the Nitrin Local rolling west through Moline, IL on a cold, January day in 2011.

The ICE 114 was built for the SOO in 1954 as their 2409, in Maroon and Gold paint. Later, it would receive SOO's iconic red and white paint, and it would serve in this manner for the SOO, I&M Rail Link, and IC&E. At this point, the unit was 56 years old, and still in regular service.

A new GE C41-8W leads a light power move east through Henefer, Utah on UP's Evanston Subdivision. The former center siding at Henefer had just been removed, but the signal tower remained.

The Grain hopper in the top of the combine certainly looks full, combining single handed!

Since the St Paul Transfer and BN Transfer jobs have been combined, a good deal of power is usually required to pull Short Line Hill up to the Commercial. Today was no exception as a solid consist of power in the new red scheme is spoiled by a pink Dual Flags SD40-2, trailing luckily.

Just west of Chestnut Street the grade is evident as the five units start to dig in for the 5 mile climb on the old Milwaukee main line to the west coast.

Rio Grande 3017, 3021, and 3114 work the east end of Transfer yard in Ogden, Utah.

Veterans B75 and 44206 are seen leading Waratah set A34 earlier in the day, heading through Thornleigh here as train 4178. This EMU is being transferred from Cardiff workshops to Auburn Maintenance Centre, and the diesel haulage is due to the lack of electrified roads at Cardiff and qualified crew to make the journey.

EMD B75 comes in at a whopping 71 years of service, with Alco 44206 not far behind with 53 years under it's belt.

Thanks to the recent rain and warm temperatures there was a bit more growth in the foreground here than I was hoping for.

The prongs Haren is a nature reserve in the north of the country Brandenburg . He is one of the largest wetland complexes in the forest natural area of Granseer plate with a variety of habitat types . The reserve covers an area of about 823 ha in the districts Glambeck , Gieben , Großmutz , Hoppenrade and Linde the municipality Löwenberger Land

Flora and fauna

Worth protecting plant communities in Haren prongs are particularly alder-swamp forests , alder - ash forests , large and small sedge marshes , wet meadows and bogs . The area serves as a habitat and refuge for a variety of animal species. These include strictly protected species such as bats , the black stork , crane , the lesser spotted eagle , the kingfisher , the green sandpiper , the fire-bellied toad and the moor frog .

History

The prongs Haren was once hunting ground of the family of value based on Schloss Hoppenrade . He was in the context of land reform in the Soviet occupation zone in 1945 expropriated and divided. During the period of the German Democratic Republic it was used by the State Forestry operation. 1990 sought to provide the Haren prongs under protection. The designation as a nature reserve finally took place in 2003. In the same year, 160 ha of the area were from the Federal Republic of Germany at the Green League for natural management transfer. [2]

The reserve is part of the European bird reserve Upper Havelniederung.

This is two photos merged. The top foreground picture is part of the Regular Fragile installation showing just some of the hundreds of everyday objects cast in white porcelain hanging on the wall. The background picture is the gold coated ceramic globules on square steel plates on the floor. (The blurred dots are light reflecting off the globules on the other side of the room).

What a beautiful exhibition, I had to go back for a second look, soak it all and with my camera.

I love it when artists allow viewers to capture images of their work and always feel very grateful for their generosity in allowing this.
