An unusual visitor to Preston is Transdev LU 1852. It arrives with a service on route 152 from Burnley.

The bus carries "The Lancashire Way" livery for use on the X41 between Blackburn and Manchester, though it can be used on other routes if needed.

With the appearance of this bus at Preston, both single deckers that carry the Lancashire Way livery have visited the city on other routes.

Following retendering of Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) supported bus services, Transdev Blazefield was successful in being awarded contracts to operate a number of services in Bury and Rochdale under its Burnley and Pendle Travel Operators Licence from 27 October 2019. A new operating centre for Burnley and Pendle Travel (20 vehicles) was registered at Rossendale Transport’s Rochdale depot. Some of these services, along with some services operated under the Rossendale Transport Operators Licence, were renumbered, with services in Bury having a B prefix and Rochdale services having an R prefix. These services were still branded as Rosso services on the company website but not on timetables issued by TfGM.

Among the buses used on the TfGM supported services operated under the Burnley and Pendle Travel Operators Licence were the four remaining Wright Solar bodied Scanias that were acquired with the Rossendale Transport business in January 2018. One of these was 1611 (YN57FWK), a K230UB that was new to Reading Buses in November 2007 and was acquired by Rossendale Transport in July 2013 and numbered 234. It was operating service R2 to Rochdale via Heywood and Norden which combined the previously interworked 443 (Rochdale to Norden) and 461(Bury to Norden via Heywood).

A selection of Transdev vehicles viewed from within a former Transdev livery. Many different Transdev brands serve Skipton, more so on a Sunday when WitchWay buses visit on Dalesbus services.A pretty rushed shot, hence the excessive shine on the rear of the buses.

Transdev: ugly name, ugly logo. It has been appearing on buses which go into central London, but curiously not in the suburbs (London United is still to be seen down here). What are they thinking of?
